I was a papa johns at 735 E University Dr in Tempe. I went in and ordered a pizza, I walked outside and watched the PF Chang Marathon waiting for my pizza. I went back inside, then when I came out my car was gone! I saw a sign that said for papa johns customers only, so not sure why I was towed. I went back in to make some calls and watched the manager call the towing company on 7 other cars, minimum.

I was there long enough to see people coming out and pleading while watching there cars get towed. This company must give some kind of kickbacks because they are right on it..One car after the other.

I finally found the towing company, and there was a police officer their listening to other peoples complaints and found out that this company is doing some unlawful things. They even post no parking signs after people park, just to get their money. I saw a woman walk up to the Officer with a sign that had very fresh puddy on the back.

The manager was very rude and reminded me of a hard core prison inmate. The way he looked and the way he treated me was so gangster like. I thought I was going to get beat up.

He did get my $140 because I need my car. I just want to make sure this doesnt happen to anyone else. Its not right. Its a scam, and they seem to be getting away with it. ! I want to believe that what goes around comes around so I am going to leave it at that.

I have heard so many of these awful stories and I realize that they do sound like a joke mostly because they are such ridiculous tow situations.   But it is true that this company is running a giant scam.  And they are feeding on people like you and me. People that don't have the money to sit around and wait to get their cars out because they need them for work. So they pay.  People that don't have money for a lawyer or don't think the police will be on their side.  So the pay.  And I am sick of paying and ready for some action.

Papa John's will tow anyone who is parked in the "no parking zone". We do reserve a set amount of space in the parking lot for drivers, due to their constant in/out mode. It sounds like that is where you were parked, and if so the manager had all right to see to it that you were towed. Also, Papa John's parking signs are placed into the actual parking lot like the handicapped signs in each parking spot we use.

And if you treated that manager any way like you speak of him, well, you said it yourself, what goes around comes around.

I guess it came around to you.

if i was just hanging outside waiting for my pizza, i think i would notice and hear a tow truck removing my vehicle. so what's the real story? did you order a small cheese pizza and figured it would be cheaper and closer than paying for parking elsewhere while you were clearly watching this event? the pizza isn't that great at that location to drive from mesa and fight your way through roadblocks to get it, is it? you would think the officer nearby would have helped your cause too? nice try on the parking scam sally!
