this company is beyond full of crap i have not been to that school in 5 years and graduate why did i get a letter from the dmv for a recall in july of 2009. Ive been on my job for 2 years working steady and now i have to do this crap all over again and the sad thang about it is that the drivers who have been going to swift dont have nothing to do with there crap. Now i lost my cdl cant work have car note to pay and take my family and cant even do that because im laid-off sometimes i ask myself why do good people have to go through somebody else crap. I'm glad that i left them but at the same time it hurts to have something that you work hard for and have it taken away and now you have to repeat yourself all over again to gain what i already had. I just hope that i can seek some legal advice on this situation because i dont feel that its not fair for me or anybody else to be punish for there mistakes!!!

"In December 2008, the Tennessee Department of Safety sent notices to each State's Commercial Driver License Coordinator informing them that our department has information indicating that a third party testing company did not administer the skills tests in accordance with the Rules of the Tennessee Department of Safety's Driver Services Division, Chapter 1340-1-13-.22, paragraph 5(b) 10, or Federal Regulation 383.75(a)(2)(iii)(1993).
With the assistance of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) Nashville Division, the department was able to locate the current address for each driver who tested for their CDL skills Test with this third party testing company. The department then suggested that each State's CDL Coordinator require drivers to submit to a re-test in order to maintain their current Commercial Driver License. Those drivers that currently reside in Tennessee will be required by our department to submit to a complete retest which consists of both Knowledge and skills tests.
Tennessee did not indicate that the commercial license issued to CDL holders who tested with the third party testing company were fraudulent or invalid, but indicated that the skills tests were not administered properly as outlined in state and federal regulations for third party testing. For those drivers that are no longer Tennessee residents, they must comply with the state that currently has jurisdiction of their license. That state has sole discretion as to how and if they are going to re-test their drivers."
These drivers are mis taking this notice ...read it .

I no you are a experienced driver but you must learn the trucking industry before making that big step. This is post is for all the new drivers considering truck driving. First of all NEVER use a big trucking company school to get a cdl. They average between $4500.00 to $6000.00 when everything is said and done. It only cost me $1500.00 and have a LEGAL Nevada CDL A in 2 weeks, Find a small independent DMV certified school. If you pay more than $2000.00 your getting takin for a ride. And also before paying for a school be sure your DMV record is clean --NO DUI OR RECKLESS DRIVING IN THE LAST 7-10 YEARS and no felony convictions, and able to obtain a HAZMAT endorsement--MOST TRUCKING COMPANIES REQUIRE HAZMAT!!! And yes im a ex- Swift driver and learned the trucking industry and moved on to a better company with the experience I gained with Swift. Swift is just a stepping stone in a new drivers career--GET THE EXPERIENCE AND GET OUT!!!!! And last of all DO NOT LEASE FOR ANY REASON --- I would say only about 5% of new drivers will make any money leasing---Stay a company driver until you no this is the job for you or you will find yourself with a $30.00 paycheck at the end of the week after all the bills are paid.
