Norton Internet Security 2005 is full of bugs.
So far I installed it 6 times on the same computer and got 7 different error messages. Half of the time it doesn't work at all or key components don't work. If they cannot make it work then they should give it away for free or only sell the parts that actually work!

lab test are unimportant, real performance counts!

In my opinion lab test are worthless! I only care about how stable and flawlessly the application runs on my system. And since I had and still have trouble with the software, I come to the conclusion that Norton Internet Security 2005 is not worth the money. What makes the matter even worse is that they don't have explanations for all their error codes online and charge for phone support. That is not what I as a paying customer expect. Would you buy a car where one day it doesn't shift gears, the next day the breakes don't work, the next day the door cannot be closed and on the last day one of the wheels falls off??? What would you say to the dealer that would offer you to have a look at it for a fee? I would say: "take your crap back!!!!" Unfortunately there is no lemon law for software, otherwise I would have returned the software a long time ago.

PC Magazine is a heavily read and respected computer-related information source. The following is their assessment dated 10-18-04. Bottom Line: Norton's antivirus, antispam, and firewall modules work well separately but even better together. Privacy protection and parental control enhance the value of the suite even further. All told, Norton Internet Security 2005 merits our Editors' Choice award among security suites.
