Has T-Mobile charged you a reconnection or a reactivation fee? If so, T-Mobile may have charged you improperly. I work with a law firm investigating whether T-Mobile's policy of charging consumers a fee to resume services is a violation of California's consumer protection laws. If you have paid T-Mobile to reinstate or reactive your cell phone service, you may be entitled to compensation if the court agrees that the fees were improper. I'm sorry that you didn't get any notification of your payment not going thru. Generally you are sent a text message letting you know that you need to contact T-mobie about your payment, however we aren't required to do so. In terms of whether you should have been charged the fees or not (even if you requested cancellation) the terms and conditions of the contract that you signed say "If your financial institution dishonors or returns for insufficient funds your check or credit card (which includes YOU inputting the information in incorrectly), it is a breach of this Agreement and we may (a) charge you a fee of $20.00 (per line) or such amount as may be permitted by law, (b) stop accepting checks, credit card or other similar payment methods from you, and (c) immediately suspend or cancel your Service". I understand that it was an honest typing mistake, however if T-mobile did not submit the payment for you then you are liable for any fees that the mistake caused.
