Complaint Review: Taajah Phenezy - Internet Internet

On August 25, 2010 I received a text message from Taajah Phenezy requesting a short term loan of $600.  She said that the money was needed urgently, and that she had lost her wallet along with credit cards. 

I told her that I have $400 put away for a portion of my rent, and that I would need it back before the rent was due on September 1.  Miss Phenezy told me that I would have it back in two days, on Friday August 27th. I reminded Miss Phenezy of my financial situation, that I could not afford losing this money, and that it was my 'rent money.'

I am a divorced, single mom, totally on her own financially.  For the first time in my life, I am receiving unemployment, however, I am working hard to start a new business and gain financial independance.  Miss Phenezy assured me that the money would be returned in two days.

Within two hours of her request, I went to a Western Union and wired $400 to her in Baton Rouge, Lousiana.  I reside in San Diego, California.

As of today, Thursday, September 16 I have not received any of the monies returned to me and Miss Phenezy is not responded to any of my texts, message, phone calls.  She cut off further communication from herself and her network by 'unfriending' me on her various Facebook pages.

Initially, Miss Phenezy made various excuses and eventually stopped responding to me all together.  Excuses ranged from the new credit card didn't come in the mail yet to blaming it on a client who owed her $3500, and the best one: 'I'm at the bank right now, waiting for the bank to get approval on the check my client gave me."

On August 31, she promised that she would send me $600, instead of $400 (plus wiring fee) because she did not return the money as agreed.

Taajah Phenezy has a son who has a chronic illness and in and out of hospital.  On several occasions she shamefully used this as an excuse.  However, at the time when she asked me for the money he was in the hospital.  Miss Phenezy routinely does her business 'hospital bed-side' using her phone and a lap top.

I have begged and pleaded for the money to be returned.  I have asked for her to send me as much as she can or payment arrangements, and she has ignored all requests for a payment plan.

This has caused me extreme stress as I was late with the rent, I had to take money out of my food and bill money to pay for the rent leaving me literally penniless.  For the labor day long weekend, my children were staying with me for the weekend and I had less than five dollars on me.  Before the long weekend, I begged her to send me some money, any amount, so that I would have some cash for the weekend.  Nothing was ever sent.

I know $428 (including wiring fee) in the scheme of things is a relatively small amount of money; but for me it represents a quarter of my income and almost half of my rent.  I work so hard to budget the little money I have so I can have a decent place for my kids to come to on the weekend when they stay with me.  Starting a new business, while on UIC, is an extremely difficult thing. 

I am filing this report to share this experience and warn others of dealings with Miss Phenezy.  She has various internet websites, businesses and ventures that come and go.  At this time, she is offering a $10,000 contest for submitting to the 'best song' for her business, Musical Genius Entertainment, where she is looking for new musical artists to promote.  I would be interested in where she is going to get $10,000. when she can't re-pay a loan of $428.
