Take 1 By: Kathryn Segura, ripoff I purchased the Lavender Aroma Therapy Dog shampoo and moisturizing conditioner from Kathryn Segura at Hollywood Paws Studio City, California
I bought the Take 1 dog shampoo & conditioner for $30.00 plus tax from Kathryn Segura, now working as a dog trainer for LA Animal Services. After using the product on my dog, she started scratching and pulling her fur out. I took her to the vet and he said that it was an allergic reaction to the lavender in the shampoo. Cost: $45.00. It was impossible for me to shampoo her with another product because she became completely matted up. I had to take her to a groomer and the groomer had to shave her completely. Cost $55.00.
I immediately called Kathryn and she told me to send the product back and would reimburse me.She apologized for all the problems & suffering that my dog had encountered. She also said that she had tested her products on millions of dogs and the owners loved the products.(WHAT A JOKE!) That was in Dec '05. After more than 15 phone messages to her, I have been unsuccessful in obtaining my refund & shipping charges.
It is a ripoff because they do not stand behind their products. They advertise that their product is made with the finest quality French Lavender essential oils, along with the finest natural ingredients.
My poor dog has NEVER been allergic to any other shampoos. She is a professional entertainer and I had to wait for over 3 months for her coat to grow out too!!

I have used Take 1 Dog Shampoo on my Whippets and they have had no allergic reaction whatsoever. Whippets have rather sensitive skin, more so than most dogs and this Shampoo has worked wonderfully on my dogs. I was quiet surprised to read the original complaint as my dogs have never experienced any problems after being bathed with Take 1 Shampoo. My dogs are shows dogs and I always receive compliments on the condition of my dogs skin and coats. The fragrance is wonderful and it does stay with the dog for a long period of time. I have only used the shampoo.

I am an associate of Kathryn Segura. While I was learning to become an industry professional in the smae field as Ms. Segura I was working as a kennel hand on a ranch that housed over 75 trained animals used for the entertainment industry. (2001-2003) One of my responsibilities was the bathing and grooming of all these dogs and we used Ms. Segura's product TAKE 1. Each and every one of these animals was trained to work in the entertainment industry. After I recieved my professional status as a studio trainer I also free lanced in Los Angeles as a private trainer to high end clients, where at times I would house thier pets...and groom them using Ms. Segura's product. I now reside in Las Vegas and have been bathing my own dog with Ms. Segura's Product for over one year. In all these animals that I have bathed in the last 5 years (and I am talking hundred's) none of them had a reaction allergic or otherwise. Even in my own life I can go to a crab bake but cannot eat as I am allergic to shellfish, It does happen.
