target pharmacy is supposed to have a pick up prescription with id on all prescriptions, and especially on narcotic prescriptions. 2 weeks ago, they released my moms prescription (10 days earlier than refill date) to a stranger. its been extremely difficult to deal with them since there stories change from person to person, and time to time .

only one thing remains the same.. My Mom Still Does Not Have Her Much Needed Medicine!!!!!!!!!!

I/my mom were called liars, told we were scamming them, and even that they were contacting local police dept and we were gonna be detained until the officer showed up. (yes, they did have security come to where we were!)

my mom has a nervous problem, and she does not deal well with stress. i am basically her caregiver, and i have to deal with all the problems that follow her not having her meds. my moms prescription is for 10 mg. diazepam(valium) .

the meds help her with anxiety issues that she deals with, and help her to deal with her personal issues.

TARGET members, and even management told me/my mom it was up to me to resolve the med issue, because they were not responsible. my moms doc said he would not issue same prescription 2 times, due to the fact it is a narcotic, and fear of trouble with the state.

target is now telling me that this incident can not be addressed until a certain member returns from vacation on march 10. this whole thing started on feb. 20(again 10 days before it was to be filled) when TARGET PHARMACY released my prescription to ?? without asking for any id. they had prescription, why cant they deal with this issue? please help in any way, my mom needs her meds.

Someone could have gone through your trash or recycling, looking for prescription bottles with labels on them. They find a label, they call in a refill, they pick it up. At the very least, they could face drug and identity theft charges. Maybe even insurance and/or Medicare would get involved, if it was covered. Maybe YOU should call the police, and file a report. I know it's been a while, and Target may not keep security tapes that long, but it may be worth the effort. Also, maybe people should spread the word. Before discarding prescription bottles, peel off the label and destroy it - especially for controlled substances.

Number one whoever picks it up has to sign for it. So, they would have had that on record. And another thing, someone that knew that she was on it could have picked it up too. Hopefully that helps.
