I ordered an item (Order Number: 601-0260572-8013871) target.com on 11/25/2010. I got the confirmation email with summary of total charge of $146.79 on 11/25/2010. Subsequently, I received an email from Target on 12/03/2010 that supplier to Target had provided incorrect information and unit does not have blue tooth functionality but if the buyer is still interested in buying the same product ( inferior to one original purchased) at same price they have to follow the process outlined on the email. I followed the links and steps listed on the email. Upon completion of the order it was showing much higher price for the product originally purchased. I called customer service and spoke to Patricia @ Target and she informed me that email sent from Target on 12/03/2010 was sent in error. I was informed that I would receive another confirmation email on 12/06/2010. I did not receive any email so I called customer service again on 12/11/2010 and spoke to representative named Joviane. She informed me that I was sent an email on 12/06/2010. I checked my email box and I had received no email from Target on 12/06/2010. I insisted on speaking to a Supervisor and supervisor named Tashana B informed me that Target representative had incorrectly informed me that I would receive email on 12/06/2010. She also informed me that she can do nothing further to help me. My complain to Ripoff Report : 1) Target falsely marketed its product on internet charged million of american for the product and subsequently failed to honor the commitment 2) The customer ( I) was subjected to total wait time of approx 2 hours 30  min in speaking with representative. 3) Lies and incorrect information being given to the customer Kindly do the needful to ensure honest and ethical business practices.

I was apart of the same scam but at the time I knew that item did not have Bluetooth and even wrote customer service about it right way to alert them of this error. I knew this since I was heading out early Black Friday to buy it at Radio Shack so I knew all the specs already.

Here's how it gets worse my 1450LMT GPS was dead on arrival and Target will not allow a fair exchange AT ALL. They told me I have to either send it to Garmin at my cost for a refurbished unit or send it back to them for a refund that will never cover the cost now to buy a new one since even on Targets website it costs 319 dollars. I paid out the door (internet) 165.99 on the 4th after they cancelled the first order onThanksgiving Day.

I could have bought this on Amazon, at Radio Shack, anywhere on Black Friday and everyone of these places would have done a fair exchange for a defective out of the box item all except guess WHO!! TARGET!!!!!!!!!!!! By the way no where on their website does it say anything about defective products not being able to be exchanged.

So now due to no fault of my own I have two choices mail this to Garmin for a used/refurbished unit or get credited back the amount I paid. I wanted and bought a new GPS and I feel I deserve a new GPS.If I wanted a used GPS I would have bought the refurbished ones. I also missed out buying the 1490T on Amazon through a lightening deal, since I was committed to this item already.

If I even had this unit in my car for 10 seconds I might consider it used or maybe I did something to it but that's not what happened. Garmins have issues and I got one with issues (frozen screen was my issue). Target should do a fair exchange than send the defective unit back to Garmin for a refund. No they think I shouldn't have a new unit. I wrote my own rip off report about this issue from start to finish.I felt at the timewhen they cancelled the orders for this unit that this whole thing was a scam to stop people from going out Black Friday to buy this. I still believe this. They also took no responsibility for the error on the site. They blamed Garmin. I feel they should take a second to make sure what they are saying is true before they publish it on their site.Fact check!Oh, forgive me I guess they did give me my 6 dollar shipping fee back as an "I"m sorry"gesture. I think I spelled thatword wrong :0).

I will never buy from Target ever again. Nothing, ever! By the way I have my reciept, box, and packing slip. Nothing to stop a proper exchange for a defective item.
