Complaint Review: TAX MASTERS - Houston Texas

I had been unemployed for about 14 months when the econimy cashed in Florida about 3 years ago. S in order to live and survive I did what most people had to do use their 401k to pay bills and food for my family.

 I filed my taxes and owed for the money I used from my 401k. Well I couldn't even buy bread let a lone paid these pentelies and interest to the IRS.I had to take a job out of state in which I was lucky to get which has been about 18 months ago.

 About a month ago I rceived a notice from my employer that a levy was received from the IRS,and they levied 90% of my pay check if I did not get this resolved by my next pay period. By now the money owed has doubled by IRS's Standards.I should note by moving out of State I had not received any of the IRS's notices.Not knowing what to do now to resolve this I had seen a commerical from Tax Masters on TV.

 I call Tax Masters the next day and soke to Elie B. King and explained my situition to him.He inturn explained what he could do and being I had filed my taxes it was even easier and it was no problem to have it taken care of before my next pay period. He then explained to me not to talk with the IRS they wuld handle everything o my behalf and then the cost and I was upfront with him about my finances just getting back on my feet from my time unemployed and he had arranged a payment plan which I agreed to pay to resolve my problem. He  Emailed me the Papers to fill out and and I sent them right back to him a long with my depoist to get started and payments to start 30 days after.

After about a week I called my employer to see if the levy had been lifted to my surprise nothing had been received, so I called Tax Masters and was told my case worker would give me a call back Yvette Gonzalez no call back. Next day I call again was told she would call me back again after 2 hours and important as this was I could not believe no one was retuning my calls so I called them back and demanded to talk with someone. Well when I finally got to speak with someone they informed me that they would not be doing anything until my next payment which was not the way Mr. King explained it to me as I told him without a pay check There are no payments.

 My pay was levied By the IRS and left me $200 dollars to live on for the next two weeks.So I called the IRS to see what could be done so my family and I could be able to live and in ten minutes worked out a payment plan and they released the levy. Should have done that in the begining but was given legal advice by Tax Masters not to contact them.

With my problem resolved I wrote a letter to Tax Masters that thier services are no longer required as It was taken care of and to keep my deposit but not to take anymore payments as no service was rendered.Return all my documents and power of attorney was revolked. This was on 2-11-10 on 3-1-10 they withdrew from my bank account another installment payment.

I have Called to get some anwers they will not give me anyone to talk to and no one willreturn any calls I have left messages with Dwane Logan,KC Perry,Mr King,Yvette Gonzalez for three days now and when I call back they hang up on me. The Girl that answers the phone Tiffiney finally told me even though they are not doing anything for me they have the right to take my money until they decide whether they drop the case or not and if they are going to return my money. Well they are attorney's so they are legal crooks and scam artists.

Word to the wise you have a better chance with the IRS, Tax masters are more ruthless and are leeches for honest people in need of tax consultants.
