Ripped off an elderly women. Convinced her to pay for a virus protection of $1000 on a computer that is over 5 years old. Now her PC doesn't work at all.

Beware of remote fixes

#2Consumer Suggestion

Tue, December 17, 2013

Some types of fixes can be done remotely such as configuring software and removing some viruses.  I have over 30 years professional experience in computer repair and I tell you that you can almost always find a problem with a personal computer that you can charge to fix.  But are you fixing all the problems or even the important problems?

My experience is that it is almost impossible to detect, let alone remove, many vary nasty viruses remotely.  However, if the technician removes the hard drive from the computer, places it a docking station and scans it as an external drive, you have an excelent chance of removing even the nasty viruses.  Furthermore, you need to packet sniff the network connection of the computer to see if the computer is trying to connect to somewhere it should not be if you want to feel comfortable that you removed all the malware.

Lastly, the computer needs to be hardened, which can be done remotely, to help prevent further problems.  In most of the country, you can find a local computer serviceman (usually a small business) who does everthing right at a much lower cost.  For example, we charge a flat rate of $69.

Well I don't know how man business have you run how ever I remember names of my premium customers as they are added in the premium queue.

thats how I remembeyou the truth is that you guys know how to take support and then take money back, you are very true that we come from the tradition where we respect elders, and I know how to do that you come from background where you do not even ask your parents. Do t try to get to the traditions and personally mark messages I explained what happened on the issue. Have call recordings invoices and document signature that customer signed after taking the services she even wrote us appreciation email.

That might open your eyes much wider. You are nobody to which I should explain what I do and how many customer are happy with us. at the end you have to accept for any kind of help you always dial a number that lands in India. amazing right!!!!!!!!!!!

More lies

More lies. Customer had one device, not four. Furthermore the money was not refunded. Actually you offered to only refund $400 of the $1,000 even after you were told the PC no longer worked. Also, the credit card fraud division became involved to have all the charges reversed. Hmmmm. If you have 30,000 customers how were you able to remember this one case? Why? Because we always remember when we lie. Shame on you. Especially coming from a culture that is raised to have respect for elders. You can try and write another rebuttal but it doesn't matter. Bottom line is you took advantage.

Hi, W are serving our customers for last 7 years and we have numerous customers calling us and getting their issue fixed on daily basis. We have database of over 30000+ customers as of today which are registered with us. Everyday customers are adding up to our database. These customers are old people, young and of middle age. We repair computers which are old and are not eligible for any kind of extended warranties. There are times when the computer does not respond at all. However we have solution for all issues. It's a request that we give support online and cannot see your computers when it's a hardware issue or an operating system installation. So customer has to be patient with us to come to a solution and provide a fix not a workaround. There was nothing wrong about the case discussed by the lady above. However she had 4 devices which was the charge of all 4 devices for one year of technical support and regular tune ups that are required on old computer. We tried supporting customer in all ways we can however a the end the issue did not got fixed and we refunded all amount back to her account. There are instances when the technician is not able to fix the issue all issues are not resolvable. However, we give our best shot to resolve it. We have all Microsoft certified and apple certified technicians working here. We do multiple checkpoints to make sure that all technicians working with us are certified. On the other hand we do not charge the customer . We just do a pre authorisation of the customer card.so that if the issue is not resolved we can void the payment and customer has his money back. We always work towards customer satisfaction and try to resolve issues to our best Contact us for any issues on 1-800-514-4786 Techsaviour's team
