Techondigital, Techondigital Scams Low Price Camera Deals - Incredibly Rude _Take CC Details Then Cancel Order Internet
I ordered a Canon Powershot S5 IS from this company over the internet. Their confirmation email demanded I call them within 24 hours to confirm the order.
When I did so, I was rudely informed the camera was out of stock and my order was canceled.
After checking their website I discovered the camera was still advertised so I called them back - this time their "customer service" department. I got the same guy as before. When I queried the situation, he immediately became abusive and told me the order was canceled and not to call back.
Further research on this "company" reveals they offer cheap cameras, but then pressure sell "extras" at outrageous prices. If you don't buy the "extras" you don't get the camera. This scam was not attempted on me. I believe because the credit card details I gave related to a British Mastercard I hold. While I live in America, and the card billing address is my US address, it would not normally be possible to use it to purchase goods in dollars. I was hoping to utilize the favorable exchange rate to obtain the camera more cheaply.
I was quite prepared to still purchase it using a US CC had the "company" proved amicable and if the British card wouldn't work for them. These guys are scam merchants. They are obtaining credit card details under false pretenses. Whether that is part of their scheme, or if they are just making outrageous profits out of overpriced accessories, they shouldn't be in business.
