Teeda Ripoff, Sterling Silver doesn't turn skin green regardless of skin type - funny excuse though! Granada California
I purchased several items from this Company and was very happy with all of the items minus the "Marcasite Inlay Ring", item #RMP-5090. I contacted the company and explained that the ring after being worn for only a 1.5 hours, turned my finger green.
Following is the e-mail I sent them:
Comments: I recently placed an order - I'm a new customer (Thank you, the items were GORGEOUS, to my husbands dismay I will be back). I have one problem I ordered item #RMP-50 (Marcasite Inlay Ring - Red Coral), I'm sad to report that even though it states that it is .925 Sterling Silver - I believe that it is not - it keeps turning my finger green. Please contact me at ###-###-#### to let me know how I can resolve this issue. The ring is gorgeous and I'll be so sad if it turns out to be a bad "lot" because that means I can't get a new one - I look forward to speaking with you.
What followed was a slew of either unrelated to my situation or hostile and defensive responses. At no time did they apologize for the problems I experienced.
Instead they began their response with the following sentence: "We are sorry to hear about the issue "that you thought" you had with our merchandise. I was floored and began e-mailing back and forth with "whoever" was sending the e-mails in hopes of getting some sort of "customer service."
One of the e-mails stated that the problem was related to my skins PH Balance. I manage my own jewelry business and wear nothing but sterling silver daily - never had any problems before and that excuse carries no weight in the real world. Bad metal is bad metal.
Ultimately, the following is what they felt was a sufficient resolution to my problem after they told me I was no longer welcome to purchase items from them:
**An RMA however will be emailed to you strictly on a one-time courtesy basis with the 25% restocking fee (because the ring has been used/worn); we will however waive the $10 surcharge (for an order of less than $100) even though your net product total will be less than $100 after the return.**
I wore the ring for about 1.5 hours, give or take, based on the amount of my order I only had to pay wholesale $9.49, it simply isn't worth my time and frustration to return the item after I am penalized 25% restocking fee - however they were gracious enough to offer to waive the $10.00 Surcharge (funny, when you consider the ring didn't even cost $10.00)
I have about 12 e-mails from this company including 2 which occured after I demanded that they cease contacting me (it was getting a lil creepy), I have chosen to keep the ring and utilize it as an example of "bad product" when I show my jewelry during shows and on my website. Just hope that this e-mail can help some other poor soul to avoid working with a company who cannot stand behind their product.
