Complaint Review: Tell-Tale Cockers - Olmstead Township Ohio

I have to agree with this lady.Diane had let me come to her place and the area where the dogs were at was spotless and there were no crates stacked and she doesn't take your money till she sees what she has and then she takes your deposit after the fact that she finds out what is pet quality or show.I have NEVER had any problems with my dogs from her and they are worth every $$$ amount you pay.I find it strange people lie so much but they love their dogs from her.This lady has answered every question I have ever asked her and answers my phone calls.I am not a show person but I wanted good dogs and they are and no health issues; There is such a thing as slander and a lady to get on her that knows nothing about me and lies.I am only business acquainted with Diane and nothing else.I live in KY and she lives in Ohio.SHe sold me my first Cocker and I had talked with 5 show people and they treated very bad and seemed to think I was stupid.I never will forget the first time I called her I was so upset and dealing with medical issues and not looking good.I was leaving her a message and trying to explain what and who I was and she picked up the phone and I ask her why it was such an issue getting a puppy.Her soft voice replied I would love for you to get one of my puppies Denisa.Now, this is the Diane I know.God bless all you of and just enjoy your lovely dogs, Trust me noting look so good when you are facing death.Thank you, Diane, for making me want to get up and have to struggle to take care of my girls I bought from you, I will never forget you as long as the Lord lets me live.

The person has lied terribly on me and how embarrassing and mean .She doesn’t even know me .She said I lied about having Diane Donnely’s dogs .I have three and they are all girls .My son lives in Lexington and I moved to Pikeville ky and he loved our Cockers and he has two of them .This is cruel that a person would start drama and go to someone’s FB and try to spy .I have no issues with my dogs they are all healthy and far as Diane paying me trust me she is all business and one of the best breeders in the world .I read up on her and she has dogs all over the world and people keep coming back to her .I don’t appreciate you talking about me when you know nothing about me .Dhe said she took advantage of you .I was a d**k woman and needed a reason to live didn’t care if I did and she brought joy into my life and I had to make myself get up and walk and take care of my dogs they depended on me and like wise .You know nothing about me .The Lord has blessed me and I am not going to let you take my joy

Denisa, looking at your social media pages prove that you DO NOT have 4 Tell Tail Cockers. You have only one and she is the sister of the female that Diane Donnelly sold us.  I doubt any part of your rebuttal is true and wonder how much she paid you to try and clear her name.  Now that more and more people who bought dogs from her are coming forward, that may be hard to do.  I hope your dog doesn't present half the issues mine girl from the same litter has.... 

After contacting several agencies and reporting Tell-Tail Cockers to the Ohio Attorney General's office, Diane Donnelly finally agreed to give me full AKC registration papers so I could also register the other puppy.  I am satisfied with that outcome but have not forgotten the way she handled the situation

There are rebuttals here that talk about how lovely Tell-Tails Cocker Spaniel pups are and how wonderful Diane was to them during the sale.  I only wish I had the same experience. I love my two girls that she sold me and they are beautiful at 10 months old now.  But it was the horrific way she handled the situation.  She knows that she took advantage of my grief over the loss of my little 8 year old Cocker and she got away with it. I can only say shame on you and I hope Karma has already paid a visit.  However, it is what it is and she has to live with her conscience. I learned a valuable lesson and have learned a lot about Diane Donnelly and her business through this experience.

I belong to several Cocker clubs and very few breeders have heard of her but those who have offer their own set of cautions. She is the typical breeder who pretends to care a great deal about her puppies and the homes they end up in. But it is all about buinssess and making money. She sees dogs as a commodity and will send a puppy to any part of the world as long as someone is willing to pay the price.  I doubt she follows up on her puppies after the sale. Another breeder who has personally visited her business says she runs it out of her garage with crates of dogs stacked from floor to ceiling and rarely do people go to see the actual conditions because she only meets at off site locations.  

Bottom line, my situation was finally resolved through the Ohio Attorney General's Offcie, not because Diane Donnelly realized she had taken advantage of an innocent victim who was at the time grieving the loss of her best friend. I learned a valuable lesson about buying a puppy from a breeder that lacks sound business ethics and strong moral character. I am lucky in the sense that my two puppies are gorgeous and healthy and I love them dearly. Both are now AKC registered and it is my choice whether or not to show them.  I can only advise others to make sure you visit Diane's kennels.  

Have her put the price in writing via email before you make the trip to see the puppies.  And make sure she is available for consult after the purchase and that it is written in your purchase agreement.  Don't get caught up in the fact that the puppy is adorable or that you have limited time at an off site location.  Take your time and get to know Diane before you meet the puppy.  Also check references....not only from the past customers she will lead you to, but check her out at other cocker clubs and with other breeders.

 I am so blessed to have several of tailtail cockers .I have three dogs from this wonderful breeder and I have never been disappointed at all she has been so wonderful about meeting her and working with me she has taught me so much and showed me so much compassion I met her once and it was raining and she had me follow her to a covered area so the puppies wouldn't get wet and scared .I am going back for my fourth puppy and she already know the type of puppy I want without even asking .she has show dogs all over the world and everyone loves and looks up to her .i am so upset that someone would trash her wonderful name she has made a living out of helping people get show dogs I love this lady Diane Donnelly

After we lost our little chocolate cocker, I contacted this breeder as she had year a old male we were interested in. We met her the following day in an agreed upon location. Meeting in a mutual location is not unusual especially if there is distance involved. We paid the agreed upon price and we were very impressed with the breeder and the little boy who was more than expected. She also offered us an older female who was no longer breedable for no charge. We met her the following week at the same agreed upon location to pick her up at NO CHARGE.

We are more than happy with this breeder and would buy from her again in a heartbeat. Having raised Cockers before; let me remind eveyone that they are not cheap to raise nor breed. Reputable breeders put a lot of money out to breed well, and this process can take years. Do not expect to get a puppy at a cut rate cost. If you do want that, do not go to a show breeder.

Breeder agreements with limited registration are not unusual, unless you are going to show the dog. They do not go to all of that hard work and heartache for someone to go out and breed their dog to perhaps an inferior Cocker and flood the market with puppies. If you do want to embark upon a good breeding program and are willing to show; I am sure she would have worked with you.

Keep in mind, she had the safety of that puppy in mind when she agreed to drive that far to meet you and not air shipped it.

You have no idea that you were also ripped off by this breeder.  She said you had stood her up and was NOT coming that day. She said you have a drinking problem and she didn't want to sell you a puppy anyway. She then sold us your puppy knowing you were on your way to buy her. She knew that once you got there she could sell you the remaining puppy and make even more money from everyone. She gave you a price of $1200 for the same puppy we bought that day and then turned around and charged us $2000. She said that is the price she was charging you which we all know now is a lie.  She said this was a top notch show puppy and worth every penny.  She then gave us limited registration papers so that this "top notch" puppy can never be shown or have her puppies registered.  You say you were two hours late?  Maybe by then she turned the air conditioning on in her van but when we got there the puppies were not in an air conditioned van. They were in cages with the door open.  This woman is a heartless liar and uncompassionate greedy breeder who sees her dogs as a commodity only.  She knew we had just lost our baby girl to a heart condition and took full advantage of our broken hearts and charged us $2000 for a limited registerd puppy that can never be shown or bred.  She should be shut down and I am working on making sure she is if she does not return $800 of our money.   She charged us $2000 for the SAME puppy you were quoted $1200.  SHE IS A RIP OFF.  Wake up Joyce.     

 I bought a cocker from this same lady on the same day at the same place. She was clear and concise in her instructions. Even though I was two hours late she waited for me. When we arrived she was in her van with the air conditioner on. My puppy was cool and happy. I paid her exactly what we had agreed on. I was very happy with the transaction. She was nothing but kind and understanding to me. It wasn't until later that evening when I got a phone call from another buyer that I became aware of this report. I had to tell my side because my experience was such a joyful one and my puppy is stunning.
