Correction re: court location where Joseph ("Joe") Lawrence Lancisero's FELONY CONVICTION can be located:  SUPERIOR COURT OF CALIFORNIA, COUNTY  OF ORANGE (erroneously first reported as "County  of Los Angeles"), CRIMINAL DIVISION, CASE NO. 95NF0790.

Jim: You are apparently as bad at comprehending what you read as the person in Santee, California (see above rebuttals). NO WHERE in the above reports do I state that I have worked for any moving company (because I have not). I AM A CONSUMER who does not wish to use moving companies whose employees are convicted felons! But I do agree with you that only a disreputable moving company (SUCH A TERRY'S MOVING AND STORAGE, LAKE FOREST, CALIFORNIA) would hire movers without doing background checks. Many, many obviously do not, as the two FELONS mentioned above have worked for not only Terry's Moving & Storage in Lake Forest, California, but for Safeway Moving (Orange County, California), Anthony's Moving Service (Orange, California), etc., none of whom ran background checks or they would have easily found the criminal records of these two convicted felons, just as easily as I found them on the web! CALIFORNIA NEEDS STRONGER LAWS FORCING MOVING COMPANIES TO NOT ONLY RUN BACKGROUND CHECKS, BUT TO RESTRICT THE EMPLOYMENT OF CONVICTED FELONS OR, AT THE VERY LEAST, MANDATING THAT ANY MOVING COMPANY WHO WOULD HIRE A CONVICTED FELON BE MADE TO REVEAL THAT CRIMINAL CONVICTION TO THE CONSUMER BEFORE CONTRACTING FOR A MOVE (I can assure you, most consumers WILL NOT want a known, convicted felon in their home).

Julie, every (and I mean every) reputable moving company in the state of California does background checks on its employees - that is the bottom line. The insurance consequences are too great not to. The only companies that may not (and this may happen throughout the country - not just California) are the disreputable moving companies. So before you start tossing around things you have no clue about...do just a little due diligence - please. I speak as someone who used to consult for every major vanline; I have yet to come across ANY major vanline who doesn't background check every employee they hire. If you used to work for a moving company that didn't do a background check on its employees, my guess is that you associated yourself with disreputable people - and it makes me question not only the moving company, but you as the person posting the report as well....because I can easily lump the two of you together in this mess....

It's wonderful that your moving company in Illinois checks the backgrounds of all of its employees. Most moving companies in California do not and are inundated with convicted criminals and in particular, felons. CONSUMERS DO NOT WANT CONVICTED FELONS IN THEIR HOMES. TERRY'S MOVING & STORAGE in Lake Forest, California, KNOWINGLY fails to do background/criminal checks on its employees and KNOWINGLY hires convicted felons/felons on active parole. AT THE RISK OF CONSUMER SAFETY! Demand that your California legislators and representatives pass an Assembly Bill banning moving companies from hiring convicted felons and/or felons on active parole. State of Hawaii, Child Support Services, has a file several inches thick on this dead beat, who owes thousands upon thousands of dollars in UNPAID CHILD SUPPORT for his daughter who resides in Hawaii with her natural mother.

It appears this is YET ANOTHER PHONY REBUTTAL...a customer who used this company fours years ago and is just now checking them out at Rip Off Report? Please! Sounds more like Joe Lancisero's roomate Clara's friend who lives in San Diego (and whom she told me she had to drag along Joe for visits, despite the fact her San Diego guy friend can't stand Joe). Joe Lancisero's last felony CONVICTION may have been 14 years ago, but that doesn't mean he's not committing felonies that he simply hasn't been caught/convicted for yet! And, why would he hang out with felons who are on current parole status if his act were "cleaned up?" (i.e., hanging out with convicted felon on parole and helping him land a job at Terry's Moving, e.g., John Kleghorn ("J.B."), who, as you can see from the reports above has a VERY RECENT FELONY CONVICTION/PAROLE SITUATION. Also, what customer would meet the moving employee's roommates in another county? Ludicrous. YOU ALSO MUST NOT KNOW JOE'S ROOMMATE CLARA VERY WELL AT ALL, AS SHE DOES HAVE A SISTER (AND A BROTHER!) After looking at the postings about Terry Moving, and in particuliar, those about Joe and JB, I'm appalled at your pettiness. Even if you feel that you have a legit gripe about this company, you don't have the right to spew your bile all over the internet regarding the individuals. I mean, seriously, you're bringing up a charge from 1995? HEEELLLLOOOO....14 years is a long time to carry a grudge, honey! Now, I've employed Joe around 4 years ago, and it was one of the smoothest run moves I've ever had. He was helpful, organized, and worked his tail off! All of my stuff arrived intact, and accounted for! Grow up!!! I know his roommate (and to my knowledge she doesn't even have a sister!), and I've met JB...they are good people, and whatever your issue is with Joe, he sure as hell doesn't deserve to have your BS piled on top of him! Knock it off, get a life, and grow up! Thank you! Come again!!!

This sounds like a phony rebuttal, most likely sent in by Joe Lancisero's roommate Clara's sister (named Aileen, I believe), who currently works and lives in Korea. Poor attempt to "cover up" what can't be "covered up." Both these men are CONVICTED FELONS and THEIVES who have bounced from one moving company to another (each assisting the other in coming on board at a later time). THEIVES LIKE TO STICK TOGETHER. Also, MOST RECENT CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION RE: JOSEPH (JOE) LANCISERO INVOLVES INVESTIGATION BY THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA/EDD UNEMPLOYMENT OFFICE RE: FRAUD AND PERJURY, FOR KNOWINGLY COLLECTING UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFITS WHILE EMPLOYED ON A NEARLY FULL-TIME BASIS WITH SAFEWAY MOVING IN SOUTH ORANGE COUNTY! Once a theif, ALWAYS A THIEF! These two gentlemen also moved my belongings (WHILE THEY WERE EMPLOYED WITH SAFEWAY MOVING COMPANY) and DAMAGED A VALUABLE ANTIQUE CROSBY TOWER RADIO FROM THE 1920's BY KNOCKING OFF AND LOSING IRREPLACEABLE KNOB!!! I find this report made about the two gentlemen, Joe Lancisero and JB, who work for Terry's Moving Co., to be contradictory. I just recently used this company, and these two movers specifically, and found them to be quite helpful gentlemen, hardworking, polite, on-time, and very giving to the customer. And isn't customer service and satisfaction important? These two "gentleman", as you put it, deserve a little more, or maybe "a lot" more credit, than has been presented here.

I am not surprised by these Rip Off reports. I was personally acquainted with one of Terry's Moving's employees, a fellow named 'Joe Lancisero.' Joe was able to get Terry's Moving to hire his buddy, a convicted California felon on parole named 'John Charles Kleghorn' (nickname: 'JB'), who was convicted of felony residential burglary with possession of a loaded gun, resisting arrest, stolen vehicle, assault on a police officer, possession and under the influence of methamphetamines, etc., and sentenced to state prison (Case Number 02CF1098 out of the Central Orange County Superior Court, Criminal Division - Sentencing Date: 9/27/2002). I personally know that these two individuals steal from their customers (taking i-pods, money, expensive sunglasses, etc., they find lying around their customers' homes). 'JB' was convicted of possesson of burglary tools and these two gentlemen were at one time renting a storage unit in Rancho Santa Margarita (well, Joe's roommate (Clara) was renting it, because neither "Joe" nor "JB" had the credit/means to do so), which is where they may have been storing stolen goods to be resold. Knowing what I've learned from these two thieves (and now ex-friends due to their thievery and other behaviors), I would never hire a moving company. Safer to pick up a couple illegals on the corner! The owner (Mr. Mark Terry) wouldn't care! Half the time he's bouncing payroll checks to these loser employees, which is the excuse the employees used to justify their stealing from customers! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY OR ANY COMPANY THAT EMPLOYS 'JOE LANCISERO' OR 'JOHN KLEGHORN' (AKA 'JB').
