I was looking for a truck as my vehicle was messing up, I had enough money saved up for a down payment. I heard about texas direct auto through the radio commercials and decided to give them a try....worst decision of my life. I had called a salesman named James who seemed friendly to talk to and asked him about the truck he had for sale on line. He said it is still for sale but that a family was looking at it and may get it, unless I deposit $500.00 he will take it off the website and tell the family is taken. I was not familiar with the tricks these salesman use and decided to deposit the $500.00 unless I was approved for the full amount of the loan...a conversation we were having after he mentioned the family. I deposited the loan and within seconds they approved it, they then asked me what my down payment would be, I told them the amount unless they knock down the price. He said nothing, all he mentioned was the loan application he will send me to fill out. I filled it out and returned it, he then said I will be receiving a call from a financial agent of theirs soon. I waited 2 hours and received a call from the financial agent, she mentioned I was not approved for the full amount, and that I was about 2 grand short....Then she tells me that unless I come up with the 2 grand they cannot continue. I then asked to speak with James, I told him that all I can offer was the down payment, trade in value and the deposit, and to lower the price on the vehicle. He still ignored the deduction of the price and told me to take the vehicle I wanted to trade in to carmax and that he will praise the value. I told him again about the price reduction of the vehicle and he tells me that they couldn't do it because they needed money and needed to reach their tax goal. I then told him that I was no longer interested and since I was not approved for the full amount to refund my money. He did not say anything about that and just said thank you for the opportunity and hung up. I then kept emailing and calling about my refund and received no answer, then someone from the financial sector contacted and I told him I don't want to go through with it anymore. I contacted my bank and they helped me get my refund, after 2 weeks I received my deposit back. Avoid depositing 500 to them, they will take advantage and chances are the vehicle you are trying to purchase is not what's on the picture, I checked the vin# and they had the same truck with different paint job at another location. I learned my lesson and will not be doing business with them.
