ABOUT THE RIPOFF REPORT BELOW:
Ripoff Report would like to let readers know that Ripoff Report emailed this customer so the member business could make things right with them. When a business joins the Corporate Advocacy Program, Ripoff Report emails everyone from the past so the member business can make things right with them. Of course, everything within reason. In order to confirm that the complaints were resolved, Ripoff Report is copied on all responses so we can insure that the member business did right by their customer. The author of the Ripoff Report below never responded to our offer to help them.
STATEMENT FROM THE ADDICTIONS ACADEMY:
First post was a competitor trying to put us out of business. We responded. next post was a person saying that the PA CIP rebuts post one. We responded. Next post was Alexander Arden (reider Carroll Arden) with a lot of fake claims and slander. He posted twice. Boris, our teacher responded. Arden said Boris was me (he not and he is on our website), next post was Arden slamming me about Trix are for kids, then Arden posing as a student in Miami (fake post), then Arden posting another complaint on a different board. This guy is trying to extort money from me and i think most of these posts belong to him. I have all his emails.
NOW TO THE ORIGINAL REPORT THAT WAS FILED

I can't believe I took classes with this woman and received my so-called "certification". I just called the top agencies including NAADAC which is on my diploma and they said this certificate is not a certification and basically the diploma means I completed a course as a National Recovery Coach. This "certification" is her claiming it is a certification and not by any type of governing body or licensing authority. I then contacted my state certification board and looked at their material to become a real State Certificed Recovery Coach and I can't believe the crap that was fed to me. The nerve she charges to for these BS classes $1,000.00 by taking advantage of me and I'm only a student. I found all this out when I went to apply for a job at a psychiatric care facility as a recovery coach and they basically laughed in my face when I showed them my certification. They said this academy has a horrific reputation and to do more due diligence in the future when choosing an educational platform. Now I have to take a "real" recovery coaching course in order to get the state certification. I can't believe this. I hope I never see this woman in Florida again. Do your homework people.

I have wasted my time and huge amount of money for the fake course in the Addictions Academy. I paid over $1, 500 for the course and when I finished it, I got the certificate. But after that I called to different agencies and their reps told me the same that this certificate and diploma weren’t appropriate to continue studies in some higher institutions. This owner said completely different and therefore I agreed to take the course. Guys, be very caution and check this company before you pay for the course.

CALI ESTES THE CON ARTIST – STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURE
1. CALI ESTES WILL EMAIL YOU SAYING WHAT YOU ARE DOING IS A CRIME
2. CALI ESTES WILL EMAIL YOU SAYING WHEN YOU CALL HER DIPLOMAS FAKE, FALSE, PHONY, FRAUDULENT, WORTHLESS, IS ILLEGAL
3. CALI ESTS WILL HAVE HER ATTORNEY EMAIL YOU WITH A CEASE AND DESIST REQUEST.
WHEN YOU ASK FOR A REFUND
“CALI THE CON ARTIST” when asked for a refund will reply by saying you are extorting her which is a crime. This is a lie.
Then when you say the diploma is fake, false, phony, fraudulent, worthless her reply is that these words are illegal. This is a lie.
“CALI THE CON ARTIST” replies are just scare tactics to frighten people from getting their money back.
“CALI THE CON ARTIST” Won’t sue you as this would cost more than your refund..
When you request your money back and she doesn’t refund it, you have the right to post it on Ripoff Report, where many of the cases are against companies who won’t refund a customer.
You are doing the general public a huge favor by warning them.
If you need help getting a refund write to the email listed further below.

“CALI THE CON ARTIST” AKA “BORIS”
“BORIS” Where are you??????????????
“BORIS” We have not heard back from the previous posting with his real name and where he got his wonderful job after receiving his fake, false, phony, worthless, fraudulent diploma from The Addictions Academy, which is a “FRAUD.”
“BORIS” never wrote back another message because his (her) posting is actually from “CALI THE CON ARTIST.”
Here is how we know. In my first posting I never mentioned my name and if by magic “BORIS” writes on his (her) posting that my name is Alexander Arden.
“BORIS” isn’t a Russian telepathic mind reader. It’s just from “CALI THE CON ARTIST.”
“CALI THE CON ARTIST” was watching a ”ROCKY & BULLWINKLE” cartoon with “BORIS” and “NATASHA,” while eating her TRIX breakfast cereal early in the morning.
“TRIX ARE FOR KIDS.” We are smart enough not to fall for her fake posting.
“CALI THE CON ARTIST” thought “BORIS” was anunusual name that might sound more believable than a name like John or Mike for example.
“CALI THE CON ARTIST” thought her bad typing, spelling, grammar on the posting by “BORIS” would make it look more real.
“CALI THE CON ARTIST” ironically used the same bad typing, spelling, grammar in her flimsy book (brochure) ($65) for the fake, false, phony, worthless, fraudulent diploma from The Addictions Academy, for a course ($1,000) I paid for.

CHRYSTY ESTES AKA CALI – THE ADDICTIONS ACADEMY FRAUD
THIS IS FROM A REAL FORMER STUDENT WHO GOT RIPPED OFF, NOT A COMPETITOR
I was a former real estate broker/mortgage banker in Beverly Hills, California. I lived in a gated, multimillion dollar Hollywood Hills villa with a panoramic view, just above the world famous “Sunset Strip” and was known as the “Rock and Roll Realtor” for throwing my famous star-studded parties.
My own addictions to sex, food, drugs, alcohol and gambling led me to a hedonistic “Hotel California” lifestyle.
The real estate downturn caused financial problems for me and I became involved in business with people, who I did not realize were already convicted felons, in an attempt to earn funds to save my home from foreclosure.
This business relationship would later cause me to be indicted on federal, white-collar money laundering charges
I became one of the best “Prison Lawyers” in the history of the “Federal Bureau of Prisons.” (FBOP)
As my own “Sentencing Mitigation Specialist”, I authored a 284-page 3553(a) Sentencing Mitigation motion with over 40 downward departures and served 10 years less than what the prosecutor requested, even though I went to trial, which only 3% of all federal defendants do.
I was both one of the elite “Inmate Companions on the Suicide Watch Team” with the FBOP Psychology Department and was accepted into the “Residential Drug Abuse Program” (RDAP), which grants an 18-month sentence reduction.
I authored my own 2241 motion while incarcerated, receiving an additional 12 months off his sentence.”
I filed over 120 “Administrative Remedies,” while incarcerated, resulting in a multi-jurisdictional lawsuit and won a large financial settlement against the United States of America.
I am continuing to file appeals to have my conviction overturned and more multimillion dollar civil rights lawsuits against the United States government.
After my release from incarceration I had to complete 3 years of supervised release (probation) in the Southern District of Florida.
I decided I wanted to enter the addiction field to help people, especially teenagers, with their substance abuse problems, so they did not go down the same wrong road that I had.
I completed many addiction courses while incarcerated. I Googled and found The Addictions Academy which was in Miami. I called and spoke to Cali Estes, whose legal first name I discovered later was Christy.
I explained my situation of being previously incarcerated and on probation. I told her I had very little money at that time to pay for courses.
Cali told me her own husband was a convicted felon and had been in jail over 20 times.
Cali told me that if I completed the Nationally Certified Recovery Coach (NCRC) course she would give me a job, which turned out to be a boldfaced lie.
The NCRC course was supposedly 16 hours delivered by webinar over a weekend. I even signed up a friend of mine for the course.
My friend and I paid a total of $1,065 each for the course and book.
I asked to meet Cali at her school location and she said there was no office. She just worked out of her condo. This should have been the first red flag.
I met her at a Starbucks near her condo. The book turned out to be thin, more like a brochure, very poorly written, as it was full of spelling mistakes.
The next Saturday morning, my friend and I signed up with “Go to Meeting” for the webinar. There were 3 other students and there was Cali on video sitting on her living room sofa in her condo.
The course turned out to be a real joke. Each day, Saturday and Sunday, the course which was supposed to be 8 hours daily, started late, ended early and was full of breaks, so Cali could answer her cellphone. It turned out to be about 4 hours a day of just hearing Cali rambling and bragging about herself.
When I called Cali the following Monday for my new job she had promised me, Cali told me I needed to take 6 more courses ($6,350), before she could hire me. She had completely lied to me, so I would take the first course.
I went out to find employment with my newly printed NCRC certificate and was shocked to hear potential employers literally laugh out loud and what they said about Cali and The Addictions Academy:
So, I incorporated a company titled, “The Addiction Coach, Inc.”
When Cali found out, she called me and said I was pretending to be her. I don’t know how I could do that as I am a man and she is a woman. She touted herself as “The Addictions Coach” with the word “Addictions” plural.
I told her I just wanted my money refunded. Her reply was:
Cali said I had to dissolve my corporation or A, B, and C would occur.
Being on probation is like walking on egg shells. I had a rookie probation officer trying to make a name for herself and felt that she would believe Cali and violate me, therefore I dissolved the corporation.
I read on The Addiction Academy website that Cali had supposedly earned a Ph.D. to try and give herself more credibility.
It turned out that the unrecognized, non-regionally accredited university where Cali received her diploma was selling Ph.D. degrees for $500.
Cali stated in an email to me that she is a Clinical Psychologist and holds a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and Life Coaching from Dayspring University.
Christy "Cali" Estes" is not registered as a licensed Clinical Psychologist in the state of Florida or any other state.
On her email [email protected] it states Crim Psychologist. Crim stands for Criminal, so she is a Criminal Psychologist. These words are more fitting for her.
Notice how she left out the word “Christian” from the name of the university as she wants it to sound like a secular degree. Cali also omitted it on her school website.
Dayspring Christian University was the old name and now due to bad publicity it has been changed to Dayspring Theological University
On this page it lists the degrees offered:
universidaddayspring.com/?page_id=375
The university doesn't even offer a PhD in Clinical Psychology and Life Coaching.
Their website shows only a Ph.D. in Psychology (Biblical Model).
On this URL it states that PhD's from Dayspring Christian University were sold for $425.
https://www.ghanabusinessnews.com/2016/04/10/155569/
Here is a statement from the above URL:
"Some significant things came up during these interactions with the fake universities. The Dayspring Christian University emails were riddled with typographical and grammatical errors. In their first reply to my enquiry email, they referred to me as ‘Rev’ and I never told them I was a reverend minister, and I haven’t even bought the degree yet, which costs a paltry $500. When I wasn’t replying to their mails, they offered me a discount; I could pay the amount less $75! And I could either fly to collect the ‘degree’ at a ceremony in the US or they could arrange to confer it on me here in Ghana!"
Neither Dayspring Christian University nor Dayspring Theological University has any regional accreditation. They claim accreditation from an unrecognized organization, known as the AACT.
American Association Christian Therapists (AACT) is not listed as a Recognized Higher Education Accreditation Organization.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_recognized_higher_education_accreditation_organizations
Cali is using the same unrecognized AACT for the accrediting of The Addiction Academy on its website.
Telephone numbers listed on the bottom of the Dayspring Theological University website’s home page reflect how they market their cheap $500 Ph.D. degrees to many third world countries listing local telephone numbers, so the prospective student does not have to pay long distance charges.

The complaint would be that Cali is advertising “Nationally Certified” courses when these are words she has just made up and they are fake diplomas, as there is no “National Certification” for the courses she offers. Students are induced to enroll in the course(s) by this false, fraudulent and misleading advertising in the belief that they could become “Nationally Certified” and therefore earn more income.

The complaint would be that there is no state license from the Florida Department of Education listed on her school website, so Cali is operating her school illegally.
Florida Certification Board

The complaint would be that Cali must use her complete legal name as a Certified Addiction Professional (CAP) in the state of Florida on all websites, brochures, business cards, correspondence, etc. so that when people file a complaint against her, it will be against the proper person.

Hi Richard
The Pennsylvania Certification Board is a private non profit that offers certifications and trainings that is not attached to, run by or affiliated with the actual state of PA. We actually created our NCIP before they even offered the CIP and we are in no way affiliated with them nor have we once ever claimed to be.
Since there is no state nor federal cerdifiation body you can chose to use our training or any other company. Some companies offer a full certification program in addition to the training.

To Whom It May Concern,
Your rebuttal to the complaint is not quite true. There is a certification board & governing body for interventionists. It is the Pennsylvania Certification Board & the certification is the CIP. I know a few people who took your interventionist course and they were led to believe that they were a CIP, certified with the Pennsylvania Certification Board upon completion of your training. This is/was not the case. Your promotion and marketing of your products is misleading and not true. I received an email from you quite some time ago that stated "Get your Sober Companion Certification Before The Laws Change!!!" As you just stated in your rebuttal, there are no laws governing Sober Companions yet your marketing certainly implied that there were. A big part of sobriety is doing the next right thing, morally & ethically. Your promotional marketing is far from ethical.

First if you have a complaint gainst a company, the average person calls the company for a refund. Especially if it is $1000. This person has not called us, nor sent an email of complaint asking for a refund. So we find it VERY odd that you post on a site that you can not remove slander from. Eveyone knows this site does not verify any facts and uses the information to be scandalous.
So let me fill you in.....
The Addictions Academy is an accredited school with the AACT, which is a certifying body. They have granted us the ability to certify students in specific disciplines.
NAADAC is a ceu provider, not a certification body, that is why they told you it is a cerrificate. They only certifiy you in their classes, that they teach. Also it is for COUNSELORS not coaches. So it doesnt pertain to you.
There is NO state requirement for a certified recovery coach, (call your state) AND you can use any of the recovery coach companies inlcuding RISE Recovery (the provide a certification) at Net Institute or Addiction Academy for Professionals in Florida with Ben Braffman, they provide a recovery coach certification.
There is no governing body for recovery coaches or interventionists at this time. This is why we ALL provide a certification. Please google other compaines and you will see the same thing. So to dispel the myth, we are NOT a scam and we have trianed over 2500 students in under 4 years. Check out our testimonial page --- you can see a LOT of happy, successful and very professionals students including doctors, NFL and more.
As for the psyciatric facility telling you the certification is no good, I think you applied for a Recovery Suport Specialist job, which is completly different. Our peer to peer recovery coach class IS accepted in NJ and the teacher een lives there (and shocker it is NOT cali estes), so we definately think this is a competitor!
Either way you could have called us and gotten a refund, which you did not, leading us to believe this is a competitor posting a false claim to generate more business. After all this industry is very dirty and eveyone likes a good scandal.
In addition we have 15 different teachers that are top in their industry and have been teaching for years. We offer both Professional Recovery Coach and Peer to Peer Recovery Coach (which IS accepted in the state of NJ, our teacher for this class lives there and teaches it at a college).
