Everything the previous report(Bobby 76016,Tx) had to say is correct. My son attended A.I.of D. over a year ago. He still doesn't have a computer design related job. What they mean by assisting in "job placement", is news paper cut-outs "posted" on a bulletin board. They lead you to believe that they have contacts for you and that you at the least have your "toes" in the door when you grad. But.. You are on your own.

We also have come to the realization that you never tell anyone where you received your "degree" from. We feel like after spending somewhere in the area of $34,000, my son is no further advanced than if he just grad. highschool.

Too Much Is Missing...

Too much is missing in this post. How motivated is the person that is trying to find a job, and are they willing to travel if necessary to find a good paying job? I do not know your area but wonder what if there are no opportunities and what if the portfolio is not strong enough to WOW a potential employer? Like if you wish to make a real go at motion graphics you go to a place like Orlando or Hollywood. If you plan carefully, then you can relocate using the last quarter before graduation to achieve their ends. If you attend Orlando or Hollywood, assuming Ai schools are nearby, then you are positioned to find a solid feasible job. The commercial art marketplace is very difficult, especially with a depression on, and the only way to succeed is if you strive for excellence and not mediocrity, and position yourself strategically in a place where there is the possibility of work. I have been an artist as long as I can remember and know I need to change my hats all the time. I use the foundational skills that I have learned to help me achieve my clearly considered life goals. I always look for the changes in the marketplace and then change my ways to accommodate new possibilities. Every set back is a new opportunity. Is there another location where your son can find work?

i dont know much about ai but my sister is attending the ai in orange county, california. it seems kind of fishy because i believe they claim its ai of irvine but the school is located in costa mesa. i dont know why it would be called ai of irvine when its not. i am starting to think that they want the school to be associated with a wealthier city and maybe that will enhance its name. what i would like to know is if all ai operates the same. because for example there are different uc's school but ucla is definitely better uc riverside. so if ai of dallas would that imply that ai or irvine is equally as bad...
