The woman Sarah Prowse who owns this business of Permanent Makeup (cosmetic tattooing) uses dirty needles and keeps her residue inks for reuse. I watched her at the 2nd appointment prepare her trolley and she did NOT use fresh inks nor fresh needles!!! I was at this stage too frightened to say anything. Do NOT go here.  This is the reason that she is so cheap!!! She has ruined my looks and has made me look like a scarecrow. I put my face in her care. I can not stop crying. I will be reporting her to the Office of Trading Standards. I am currently trying to find someone to correct the horrible work that Sarah Prowse did on me. I requested that she refund me my money, so that I can afford to get this corrected. She has refused to refund me my money. I went to The Bourne Beauty Room to have permanent makeup done on my lips and brows to give a bit more colour and definition to these areas...now i really wish i hadn't! At the consultation she was plausibly nice and friendly, BUT once money was exchanged, she turned into a totally different, un-caring, impatient person. While having the procedure done, she also pursuaded me to have my top and bottom eye-liner done at a discounted price,  but no discount was actuallly ever given in the end. This resulted in costing me and being treated with such rudeness and disregard, that I would be certainly unhappy to return. The eye-liner/lip-liner was really painful as she pressed down very hard and used no anaestheticPROBABLY TO SAVE MONEY...nor did she anaesthetise my brows, causing me to bleed and be in discomfort and my eyes to water heavily. My lips also had obvious gaps, it did not look finished or like it had been done properly and i erupted in enormouse cold sores. When doing my eyeliner my watering eyes made her irritated and impatient, causing her to be very short and rude with me, scolding me as if i was a naughty school-child! Initially sore, but relieved to be out of her establishment, i realised within ten days of healing there were definite, patchy gaps of skin left in between my eyebrows, which i had to pencil in myself. Also my eye and lip liner did not look complete with distinct breaks in the lines of colour, resulting in an un-even appearence and one eye looked distinctly darker than the other! I rang her to arrange for touch-up appointment where i hoped she would finish off the job and make it look even. She answered with attitude and hurriedly told me that the healing process was not yet over and that i was worrying unneccessarily...reluctantly, she booked me in for the following week. I could tell that she was reluctant to see me again and try to do a proper job. I was proven right again at my next appointment. I had paid in cash and no receipt was given and she didn't want to finish the job. On arrival, at the 2nd treatment, she treated me as though i was deluded and lying, barely checking over her handy work with glazed eyes and shaking her head saying she thought it looked fine and that it was it waste of time me being there! Reluctantly, and with some sighing and defensive attitude, she mumbled under her breath, what she mumbled i am not sure. Throughout this session, i felt very uncomfortable. She was cold and rude, barely speaking to me and abrupt, nasty and impatient in manner. On asking if she'd just fill in an obvious gap on my brow, she behaved really bizarely, taking it all very personally as though i had insulted her 'work'. At one point she slammed the door and walked off in a huff and left me sitting there for a few minutes, not knowing if i should stay or go! :( At this point, a fellow beauty therapist- employee and acquaintance, gestured and rolled her eyes in acknowledgement of Sarah Prowse rude, and odd behaviour! She had witnessed her mood and appeared to be embarrassed. When i asked her to finish my lip line, she ranted and raved about what it would cost her in time and products! She said i could book another appointment for this to be completed but that i would have to pay 150 extra!!!! She also ranted, in no un-certain terms, that she didn't want to see me again and have to do it all again! I felt like crying and I did when i left. My brows, eyes and lips have still not been properly finished to this day, and look un-even and rubbish. I have now resorted to daily caking on my make up to cover up the mess which is now my face - even to go downstairs in my own house.!!! I certainly would not reccomend this woman or her establishment to my worst enemy! Only go here if you want to look terrible for the rest of your life or are willing to spend thousands of pounds on laser removal.

I have been going to sarah for over 6months now to regularly have my fingers and toes transformed into eye catching pieces of art!
She is so professional and accurate. She makes me feel so relaxed and by the time my bit of pampering is finished i feel like a princess.
Im always welcomed with a smile no matter how she feel or how late it is (i tend to have evening appointments due to my line of work.)
Sarah continually thinks of her clients comfort and keeps me going with a lovely hot or cold drink through out.
I would have no hesitation on recommending her to any of my friends and family. She simply is a super star.

I am utterly surprised at this statement, I have had my semi permanent makeup done by Sarah Prowse of the bourne beauty room and had wonderful lasting effects, compliments from friends and relatives speaking about how much her work had "opened my eyes" and made me look less tired. I am sorry you feel you had an unsatisfactory result however there are more professional and mature ways of dealing with a business when you are not pleased with your purchase eg. as you specifically said "I will be reporting her to the Office of Trading Standards".

This is just one persons opinion when many customers have had wonderful results at the bourne beauty room. I must clarify that fresh inks were used on myself, fresh clean needles, fresh clean deposit bags...everything was more than to a high standard and satisfactory. I must also add that Sarah Prowse is not only very professional and friendly, that she enjoys her work and is a perfectionist and very professional, even when at my first appointment I jumped a few occasions when she applied the needle, she was very kind to me and used anesthetic and did not make me feel uncomfortable in the slightest. Unfortunately I believe that "Sue" must have not followed correct after care procedure resulting in unsatisfactory results that or this is a viscous statement in hope to discredit the bourne beauty room for all its professionalism and dedication to its art.

I personally believe that this so called rip off report is someone who is a rival salon who is using defamation to others, i am more than happy for others to contact me if you would like, you will here nothing but rave reviews everywhere else you look :)

R.E: Slander of myself and my business

#4REBUTTAL Owner of company

Wed, November 02, 2011

I am Sarah Prowse, owner of the business The Bourne Beauty Room. I will start with this statement as I think it makes it very clear that the individual that filed this report is either a competitor, or someone
with a personal vendetta against me:

"At one point she slammed the door and walked off in a huff and left me sitting there for a few minutes, not knowing if i should stay or go! :( At this point, a fellow beauty therapist- employee and acquaintance, gestured and rolled her eyes in acknowledgement of Sarah Prowse rude, and odd behaviour! She had witnessed her mood and appeared to be embarrassed."

I work alone. I am self-employed, working from my small beauty room at home. I have no employees. I do not work with another Beauty Therapist. No one has ever been present at any of my procedures, with the exception of a photographer for 2 of my models (who are very happy and I am still in touch with), or if the client wishes to bring a friend/family member along.

"uses dirty needles and keeps her residue inks for reuse. I watched her at the 2nd appointment prepare her trolley and she did NOT use fresh inks nor fresh needles!!!"

I work with single use needles for every procedure (for the IStar 3000 machine, they are all disposable as is the casings) that are all individually sterile-wrapped. I make a point of showing these to each client before each procedure. Also I never have a needle out readily prepared as, aside from the obvious safety reasons,
until I meet a client I do not know what size needle is right for their procedure.

"This is the reason that she is so cheap!!!"

I am cheaper than other  establishments/artists because I work form home and do not have to pay
shop rental nor do I have wages to pay out. I am trying to make the treatments more available because I think everyone deserves to be able to afford them. I have not been running as a business as long as some
other companies therefore I feel the need to earn my place within the market rather than starting out with absurdly high prices.

"I requested that she refund me my money," "She has refused to refund me my money."

I have only ever had one request for a refund  She had her eyebrows done with me first and was so happy she booked in for eyeliner, unfortunately I had trouble moving house and the client had to go into hospital and so would not be around for her treatment. We are on very amicable terms and in fact her daughter came to me a few months later to have her eyebrows done.

"I went to The Bourne Beauty Room to have permanent makeup done on my lips and brows" "she also
pursuaded me to have my top and bottom eye-liner done"

This person insinuates that they have had all three procedures done by me. I have NEVER performed all three procedures on one client. At the most I have done two on one client. I have Client Record Cards for every client I have ever had stating what procedure they have had. Also I would never do both Eyebrows and Lips in one session as it would be very exhuasting for both myself and the client. To have all three of these procedures done this person would have had to come back to me on at least 6 occasions.

"The eye-liner/lip-liner was really painful as she pressed down very hard and used no anaestheticPROBABLY TO SAVE MONEY...nor did she anaesthetise my brows, causing me to bleed and be in discomfort and my eyes to water heavily."

I always send out a "Patch Test" with a topical anaesthetic on, then at the consultation the client has to
fill out and sign "Topical Anaethetic Consent Form". I have all these confidentially on record, so this "client" will be on my records. I have only ever performed one procedure on a client without topical anaesthetic (for eyebrows) and this was because she requested it. On the clients confirmation letter I advise the client to let me know if they are uncomfortable as it only takes a few seconds to apply more anaesthetic, and only takes a few minutes to work, and their comfort is my priority. I then repeat this at the consultation. I use two
anaesthetics, one pre-procedure and one during, I repeatedly ask throughout the procedure if the client is comfortable and if they would like more anaesthetic. Some clients eyes may water, some may not, this
is not painful though. If any anaesthetic gets into the eye it is immediately flushed out with a sterile solution and is not painful or damaging. Some bleeding can occur as I am using needles to penetrate a layer of skin and this is perfectly normal.

"At the consultation she was plausibly nice and friendly, BUT once money was exchanged, she turned into a totally different, un-caring, impatient person"

I do not take any money at the consultation, as it free, or before a procedure. Only once the first procedure has gone ahead and the client has seen the initial results is any money exchanged between hands.

" i realised within ten days " "I rang her to arrange for touch-up appointment where i hoped she would finish
off the job and make it look even. She answered with attitude and hurriedly told me that the healing process was not yet over and that i was worrying unneccessarily...reluctantly, she booked me in for the following week"

I only ever book touch-up/2nd procedures appointments after a minimum of 4 weeks, this is clearly
stated on all of the paperwork signed by the client.
"i erupted in enormouse cold sores."

At every consultation a "Consultation Form" is filled out by the client, this asks a series of relevant health
questions including "do you/have you ever had a coldsore or herpes". If the answer is "Yes" then I would never carry out a lip procedure. I have also looked through my client records and no client has ever admitted to having either. If a client has had a coldsore but does not disclaim this, then, as it states on the "Pre-Procedure Advice Sheet", this can result in stimulation and break outs of coldsores. This is not caused by the treatment itself, but rather the dormant virus.

"I had paid in cash and no receipt was given" I ask clients if they would like a receipt.I also offer a copy of the
General Consent and Permit Form. They can also request a copy of this at any time in the future. I let all clients know this. I keep client records confidentially and they can request that information at any
time.

"she ranted and raved about what it would cost her in time and products!"

I will, and have in the past purchased specific products that are suited to each individual. It is my job, and I take that very seriously, to make sure I have the right products for each client. This can and has included investing in new pigment shades, needles sizes, and anaesthetic. I am happy to do this to fullfill the needs of each and every client as this is what they are paying me for.

As for other comments about me personally, I believe I am a friendly, professional, patient and understanding individual who is sensitive to my clients comforts and needs. I have never had anyone make a complaint about either my personality or my work ethics. If a client were to be unhappy with my work or had issues with me I would like to hope that I could resolve these and put their minds at ease.

I always tell customers if they have any problems or questions at all, not to hesitate to contact me.
Due to the bizarre statements in this report, and that so many fact are wrong , I am inclined to think that this is either a competitor or someone with a personal grudge. If it really is an unhappy client then
please do contact me to resolve this issue.

If this slander continues I will be contacting Trading Standards and taking Legal Action. Please note that I have many happy clients and my work speaks for itself, please take a look at my gallery. I am fully insured and qualified and have these available for any potential client to see. I am happy to go through what happens throughout a procedure step-by-step should anyone wish to know where my needles and pigments come from, where they go after, hygiene standards etc.

I actually would encourage potential clients to do their "homework" on the therapists training, products etc.
At a consultation there is absolutely no obligation to go through with the procedure. Every client that does have a procedure has to first have a Patch Test, they receive Pre-Procedure Advice, fill out Consultation,
Anaesthetic, and General Consent and Permit Forms. I keep Confidential Client Record Cards that tell me what needles were used so the same colour can be matched up for each session, what needles size and
anaesthetic was used. How comfortable they were and any observations made by them or me.

I have worked very hard to start up and make a success of my small business and am absolutely horrified that sites like these could potentially do so much harm to hardworking people and have absolute sympathy for anyone else having to go through this.

I have faith that the majority of people that read this can tell what the truth is as my clients, family and friends do.
