The Cannon Management Company refuses to return phone calls or respond to certified first class mail. I have left four messages, two with the president Peter Densmore, and have not had any calls or mails returned.

The property manager of College Park Apartments (and agent of Cannon Management), Karen Smith, has been threatening, rude, belittling and disrespectful, to say the least.

The company is evasive regarding the form of the company (corporation, LLC, partnership, etc), and it has mislead me when I inquired as to how to serve it process.

The company is withholding a significant amount of money from our deposit ($650) because they allege that that rent was due from a year ago. No notice of this was ever given before we moved out, even though an "official decision" of the disputed rent was promised 8 months prior.

The Cannon Management Company flexes their superior bargaining power muscles with a bully-like pride, crushing their customers when no longer a liability to their monetary well-being. There is nothing left for me, a former resident with a chunk of deposit missing, to do other than complain to the BBB and sue in small claims court.

Lied in small claims

After I sued the company in small claims, the apartment manager, Karen Smith, brought a document that had been changed from the original document that I had received. Her document had a breakdown of the charge and a description of the deduction from my deposit. My document had only the same first paragraph, with no explanation of the deduction. When I pointed this out to her, she accused me of making the forgery. I don't know who's behind the scenes perpetrating a fraud on the court and their own customers, but it was an egregious act that I wish I could sue for again -- but I'm barred by the "litigation privilege." Basically, they got away with stealing and lying.
