TheDigitalNerds Bait and switch and selling refurbished items as new ripoff Internet
This company used a bait and switch technique by offering the lowest price on a digital camera (Canon A540).
After our order was placed online, we got an email asking that we call to confirm the order.
The customer service person (called himself Scott), says that the item is refurbished and that it does not come with a warranty or any of the bundled accessories (memory card, etc.). This is all contrary to what is advertised on their site. When you start to complain about this, they offer to sell you a new camera for an additional $30. If you refuse, they threaten to charge you a $30 cancellation fee. The person we talked to was the rudest person we have ever encountered in conjunction with a store/online purchase.
After going around and around several times, he hung up on us. I called back and he was very rude and hung up again.
This guy reminded me of Seinfeld's soup n**i only he wasn't only rude but also dishonest.
I also sent in a report to the State AG office.
