Please beware of this so called organization is not registered as a non profit organization, they have only filed for a name through the state of Michigan. They discriminate against single homeless women and they will take your private phone from you to see who your friends are if they do not like someone on your list they will delete your contacts with out your permission and if you have social media on your phone they will enter it without your knowledge and once again delete your contacts, if they find someone they do not like they will threaten you with legal action of suing you, or threats of saying they have incrimnating evidence on you from seeing who your friends are by saying you are telling people abiut them. The people that work for them try to find out a persons private address and makes public statements they will go and attack them. They also make promises to help others but if you're a woman they will not help, they will claim they have but do not follow through they will take a homeless peron off the streets and tell them if they find a place they will help them furnish the place, they took a person and said they would help out if theis person took this bad place and left them on a cement floor with no furntitue or anything. Also if you donate you time to this so called organization and take your personal property with you to help out they will take your stuff and not return it no matter how much hardship it causes you. They will say their attorney told them to threaten a person with a lawsuit to intimidate a person, they try to intimate many people with control tactics, they even have a habit of calling themselves GOD saying they will shut down established shelters in their area if they do not comply with their new rules and regulations which there are non. They were illegally using a building as a shelter and promoting it on the internet this building was not safe had many code violations, the owner of the building was shut down and when they thought a single person was responsible for this they made threats once again but the building was sited many times prior to getting closed down for violations. They are also having telethons and taking donations with out a Lic. and storing them in a hotel that's 7th floor is not livable and having people live in this place that has had issue with electric and water, it has been noted there is mold in this place. Also they are hoarding items that people could use by going to public sites like yard sales and taking everything, they will not help just anyone. If you have a friend they do not like do not believe they will help you because this will not happen.

The Homeless Angels have tried on numerous occasions to return these items. We have been denied since the beginning of December 2013. The original filing against our organization was in small claims for $5000 for 2 crockpots, loss of weight, and pain and suffering. We even tried to return these items at mediation and she denied at that time. This has became a clear case of harassment and vindiction against us. The judge denied her frivilous lawsuit only granting market value of her crockpots. We have recently sent payment that has also been denied twice. As the story unfolds on Facebook, and sites like this... we will continue to pray for this woman and wish her well. On a side note, she appealed her judgement and continues to deny our efforts to satisfy the court order.

April 2014 Mike karl and Homeless Angels were directed by the courts to return items they have bee holding from a person my family for 6 months it is now May 4th 2014 they still have not complied at all nor have they tried to remedy this situation at all sure they have 21 days but knowing the situation any person in their right mind would have taken care of this the same day. It is obvious they are not true the their word nor court orders. My family member is very unhealthy and has no stove to cook on and has not had one for over a year she bought these items in order to cook for her health in a healthy way trying to prevet having major surgery.
She is disabled and can not afford to replace these items that were not even a year old. to keep someones items as long as possible and knowing there has been an issue which is documented since Dec 2nd 2013. this leave their credibility in question anyone that truly cares about others would have taken care of this matter right away and not played games with another person health. When a person only lives on 6000 a year and has to maintain her home and bills you can understand there is not nothing left over at the end of the month.
Yes she owns her home so she has house insurance, property taxes and all the utilities, gas and trash removal to pay for along with personal items and laundry how could they do this to another human being? If needed I can get a copy of the court order and other records to prove these facts are true. One lst that that I was made aware of is in court it was mentioned they tried to take these items to her personally which was a lie because she has security cameras on her home and no one ever showed otherwise it would have been on her recordins someone tried to go to her home plus she hardly every leaves her home maybe once a month due to health issues.

My name is Jessep Magoon, and I'm the Co-Founder of The Homeless Angels. After reading this complaint I didn't know whether to laugh it off, or address it. I have decided to address these allegations for the sake of the reputation of The Homeless Angels. Our mission is to help everybody that we can, and some are receptive and some aren't. Some we assist with only clothing, food, shelter, jobs, or transportation, and some all of these things. Over the course of the past 9 weeks myself and Co-Founder Mike Karl have made great strides to improve the misconception of what homelessness really is. The majority of us are realistically only one paycheck away from being homeless. The Homeless Angels in 9 short weeks have helped over 30 people get off the streets of Lansing with 15 of them in permanant housing. 5 of them now have part-time/fulltime jobs, and almost all of them have been enrolled in public assistance programs ranging from food benefits to healthcare. We sadly experience the very few that are just looking for a handout and not a hand up. It's very clear that The Homeless Angels can't save everybody, but we sure will try to save the ones willing to assist us. It saddens me to see that this complaint was filed as anonymous (we know who you are) and the story so far manipulated that anyone that has volunteered with The Homeless Angels, participated in our Street Team Walks, or read about us in the media has to see such a sad display at trying to make us look bad. I will admit that we are a very new organization and are learning as we go, but never would we jeopardize another human being for our personal gain. Lastly, I will close with this, together The Homeless Angels will continue to grow, and as we do...we will only get bigger and stronger with the common goal of helping our brothers and sisters on the streets.
