The Kroger Company wants its customers to think it is a family orienated business, when in fact it is a destroyer of families. The corporate giant has eliminated good jobs all accross the country, while posting many record sales and profits.Just recently in its Columbus division, which is in its home state I might add, they have eliminated 120 good union paying truck driver jobs.

They have decided to eliminate these good hard working employee jobs so they can bust the union, not pay any benefits, and to bring in a non union company from Texas to do the hauling of goods to the stores. This has actually happened all across the country to good hard working employees of Kroger!

In a memo from the current head of the division,Jon Flora,he states this move will be invisible to the stores and to the customers.Well we here in Columbus Ohio are trying to help make it known what type of company that Kroger really is.My father is a driver for Krogers and has been for 24 years and is one of the men who helped make the company what it is today.

Now they are repaying him by saying thanks for the good job,now here is a pink slip. Please dont shop Kroger because they dont care about you the consumer, you the employee,or you the father or mother trying to support his or her family.

Its sad that a company this large and that is as successful would be so non caring for its hard working employees!

hey, use to be employed at a kroger store in west virginia and in the state of west virginia there is no right to work law, u half to join the UCFW. well my story is, the kroger is governed by a young manager about in his late 20 probably early 30thies. but anways, the store can not keep young employee's because they start at 5.15 or they make 5.50 and work little hours. but i was there for a year, and i was paying my retard ripoff dues to the union, see the reason why i hate kroger is because i requested to be off for 5 days under L.O.A, and i filed a request cheat, the time the schedule came, i had tio work, because the reason, was not important. so i did not come to work for 3 days, being i had to go out of town, and i also obtain a doctors note from an out of state doctor saying i was having a stage of depression being my mom was going under the knife, and i return home to find that i have no longer a job. and i filed with the union, union took to long so i said forget it and went to a local IGa for about 3 months then now im at walmart doing the lowest job there is Cart Pusher, making more then i did more as a cashier, bagger, produce clerk, dairy, and grocery. 5.95 to 6.90 is a big difference to my eye, and least walmart cares about there part time employee's because kroger if u werent there and a few time associate before ratification then u were a loner, because the contract doesnt pertain to you. kroger did not pay part timers sunday pay, and walmart pays a premium of a dollar a hour, so your making 7.90 hey least thats more in my pocket. and who says walmart is bad, least i rather work somewhere, thats pays better and does not have a Rip Off Union

I worked at Kroger for 6 1/2 years and that was pretty much the worst job I had ever had. After that long with the company I left making $8.00/hr - Kroger is a tight penny pinching company to work for. My last year with them I dropped out of the Union becuase they definately weren't doing anything for me either. So if your out looking for a job, definately stay away from Kroger. Later, John

I agree with Dirk. Kroger doesn't seem to care about their employees.

I have enjoyed Kroger as a consumer in the past, but will no longer shop there. They are the typical big corperation that only cares about the "big buck". They refuse to admit error and will not listen to reason. Unless you hire a lawyer, they will not listen to you. There are better places to shop anyway.
