 I am surprised that The Leather and Fur Ranch is still in business in The Freehold Raceway Mall. This store has the worst reputation for their store return policies. You can hardly see the sign posted. The own John Brunetti Jr promised to have my coat repaired. I purchased it with the understanding that being that a seam and buttom was loose. he would certainly repair it for me. it was a present and I wanted my husband to receive in perfect condition.

His response was do not worry, it will repair it for free.When it came time to pick it up, it still was not fixed. I wanted my money refunde and the employee named Judy said that a credit. What a scam!

 Do you have any proof of your accusation that the employees are pocketing money or is this just another of the standard consumer self entitlment comments meant to increase your pity factor?? As for them giving credit instead of cash, thats the way it goes with clothing. If you stepped outside the door with it or it was past their return policy date then they give you credit. Mainly because no one wants a item someone else has worn if they are buying new clothing. This means that shop can not resell the product because no one would buy it. To cut down on all the fraudulent returns, a credit is normally issued. The theory is that why should they eat the loss of that product because you didnt like it/had a issue with/or 'defective". Those are the standard reasons that clothing would be returned. Its not a scam....its just that your getting the VALUE of the item in a different format and not cash.

See you may be the consumer...but your "want" is not figured into the issue. Companies no longer allow the consumer to walk all over them and do it with a smile. Now I know youre going to scream that "The customer is always right!!" Unfortunatly that has not been the case since the early 90's when the AVERAGE consumer started useing company policies to use/damage a item and then get MONEY back. You may not like it, but its not a scam. You could have picked out a different coat or a different style. A credit is issued to allow BOTH parties to leave the situation with a nasty taste in their mouths. For the consumer who may or maynot be scamming them in order to do the return, it gives them the value of their item back. And the shop gets to try and help the customer by keeping them in store.
