A few days ago I got a phone call from a latin sounding gentleman that was peddling perscription pain meds. Since my doc had been out of the country for 2 week, and I had been in bed for 10 days of that due to a weightlifting accident, I bit.

That's when things got wierd. First they said hey would not ship COD, then they said they would not take a credit card, then they said them would take a VISA; but most importantly they said I would have meds by morning which ment that I would be back to work.

About an hour after getting off the phone with the guy named Eric, I got a call from Western Uni8on Telling me that they needed me to confirm a western union order off omy creditcard in the agreed amount. I put a cancel on it and cancelled my card.

The next day I called 866-978-7782, the main help center and spoke with I beleive he said his name was Ronnie Menendez. He sounded professional enough and explaind what happend with the oder.

He explained that the only way to pay for the medication was to send a western union or money gram to the Dominican Republic to consumate the transactioin. They told me that they do this all of the time and that I was protected by having the MTC, the number they needed to acces the cash on their end.

The scam was this, he kept saying that he could not see my name pull up on the "payable list" {becuase I had set it to pay tomorrow instead of today}. This guy Eric swore he had meds in the city that he sould deliver that high if I got this taken care of.

So I went back and had the designatiuon changed to money availble now, the only problem was they didn;t change the mtc number that I had given to Eric earlier to prove that I had deposited the money.

Well needless to say the meds didn's show up, they won;t answer their phone. Oh they answer it alreight until they realize it's me then they hang up. They basically stole $305 as if they had held me at gunpoint on the street.

Now I know I am the one to blame for this, pain is a very motivating factor. Espially when you cannot get your doctor. I don;t have traditional insurance and a trip to the mergency romm is well over a grand.

LIve and learn, but I did want to share this with anyone thinking the same thing or who get approached by these guys.

They are part of a narcodics cartel based in the Dominican Republic

The names I have Spoken with are

Eroc Costa

Ronnie Menendez

and others that I did not write down

the are organized and currently operating from any of these phone lines

866-978-7782, 661-349-4727, 410-482-3333, 305-407-3373

Bottom Line, if ANYONE asked you to consumate a transaction overseas with Western Union, RUN. If you MUST, NEVER give out the mtc number until you have secured your goods.
