The Roomstore Furniture Billing Errors Consistently Made WILMINGTON Delaware
You know how most companies offer 2 months no payments or interest. Well... I have 2 large purchases one living room set and one bedroom set both purchased on the no payments/no interest plans. On the billing statement, it states that they will apply any payments to the plan that has a promotional expiration date that will expire first. However, for the past 4 months (at least) the money I sent was applied to the plan that expires 1/1/2004 in lieu of 1/1/2003.
The trick is that if you don't have the one due 1/1/2003 paid by that date, they will go back and charge 19.15% interest on the total amount back to the date it was purchased. A lot of people do not pay much attention to their credit card statements, therefore, I am sure they are paying interest on things that they don't need to. When talking to the Roomstore, they have corrected my payments each time I have called, however, I have to call each and every month.... and I feel they are misrepresenting themselves by stating in writing on their statement that they will apply the payments to the promotion expiration date that will expire first.
