The Rush Fitness Center Lies and Deception Winston Salem, North Carolina
The Rush Fitness center is a nice complex but the contract and sales rep are liars and deceptive. When signing up for trainer sessions I told the sales rep exactly what I wanted, a few training sessions and gym access for only a few months. The sales rep pointed me towards a package and told me I could cancel at any time and even freeze my account for x amount of months if i so desired. I red over the front of the contract to see if there were any things the rep forgot to say, the term of contract indicated open ended instead of 2 years. Now a few months later i'm ready to cancel my membership because I no longer find it useful and first im confronted by the employees telling me to go to the membership service.
I call and im met by a peon employee that can only answer with company answers. This is when I find out the stipulations that have to be met in order to cancel my account. Apparently I cannot cancel my membership anytime I want since according to them you need a doctors note (why you need this idk) or proof that you're moving 50miles from a rush gym. I then tell them the address I used is 50miles away and that I should be able to cancel. I was still told no. After several calls and travels to the gym I finally get hold of one of the managers. I explain my situation to him and he has me fill out the cancelation form for which I have the copy of. Now I find out I have an outstanding balance of $54 because of back membership fees, late fees for the month it took me to get someone to cancel my account. I want these charges dropped and the bills/calls to stop. Your gym is a dirty business that should be illegal to run.
