the rush fitness complex rush fitness center cant cancel contract due to injury on the job knoxville, Tennessee
on january 13 2012 i signed up for a rush fitness membership.i signed up for a month to month membership with $175.00 down payment.approximatley 1 month later i had an on the job injury. i was only able to use the facility 1 time before having an accident on the job.since having to deal with workers comp. and the beginnings of financial difficulty i decided to contact rush fitness about cancellation of my membership. i followed the procedures.
i retained a copy form of verification of disability from rush fitness. i presented it to my doctor and after he reviewed it he refused to sign it. not because my injury wasn't present but only because the way the form read. And also the doctors information thats was needed to verify his identity i guess. i have also presented work dispotion notices to rush fitness that the doctor had already signed and this was refused as a document sutable for representation for reason to freeze or cancel my membership. also during this time i found out that what i had signed up for month to month membership has now been turned into a 2 year contract with 12 personnal trainer sessions. i'm not sure how this happened and i have also disputed this.
after reading other reviews about this company this is not uncommon practices at all! my recommendations to anyone looking to start a fitness program is look towards the smaller gyms and give a small bussiness owner you hard earned money.when dealing with big companies they can always find loop holes to get what they want and keep them in the good
