This web site http://stores.ebay.com/The-Stone-Giant?_rdc=1 falsely advertises the gems he sells to appraise for $1,500 pr/ct Retail.  I have been after him for over a year to change his advertising, but to no avail.

After purchasing five Emeralds (5) from Ivan, having them appraised by a GIA certified Appraiser ... much to my shock, the gems didn't even appraise for the value I paid for them.

I was told two of the Emeralds were "garbage gems, not even worth the $100 I would have to pay for an Appraisal.  Naturally, I sent them back to Ivan immediately and asked for a return or better gem.  He complied with two  better gems of average quality.

The other three, I sent back to Ivan and asked him to have his Appraiser re-appraise them,  re-sell the Emeralds, then send me the funds.

Ivan's appraiser appraised the 5.75 ct Emerald for over $16,000 Ivan said, but he did not show me the appraisal.

Ivan sold the 5.75ct to a friend of his in  Germany and only send me $400.  I have no idea what Ivan actually sold the Emerald for.  He never would tell me, I asked!!!

I did see the appraisal on the 2.56 ct Emerald .. on his web site.
  **Colombian Emerald**
One of the wonders of the natural world!!!

Certified with a $6,780 appraisal!! Certificate included!!!

I am still waiting to be paid for the sale of the 2.56 Emerald which Ivan sold on the 22nd of March, 2011. I have a web site photo to prove the date of sale.

Ivan quit communicating with me in March, so I decided to see what was going on and found out he sold this Emerald for only $200 which he did not have my pemission to sell it for such a low price!!!!!

eBay will not help me as this was a private sale according to ebay.

When a site advertises they will sell something for you, I thought it was validated by ebay.   Well, not so!!! I learned the hard way.

Ivan has given me 101 excuses as to why he has not  paid his debt.  In fact, I received another email yesterday which I shall include in this report.

"Dear akmaroni,

I'll send you $200 next week after I get funded just so you will quit bothering me so much. Fees were just taken out so I'm broke for now until some payments hit. Thanks

- ivanstills"

This email was sent through eBay.  My reply to Ivan was:  I'll believe it when I see it. ... Just another stall tactic!

To sum things up:  Never buy from The Stone Giant if you expect Quality Gems and Honest service.  Never send a gem for Ivan Stills to re-sell and expect to get your money back from him.  You will never get your money back.

The Stone Giant's web site is full of False advertising and I will not stop until it changes.  To many people have been scammed by this site, not just me!!!

False advertising wording changed to increased amount!

The Stone Giant has now changed his False Advertising wording from $1,500 pr/ct retail to:

"Colombian emerald of this size and quality sells for up to $3,000 per carat retail."

This add was taken from a 1.92 ct Emerald (photo) will be included .. Emerald is not worth $300 let alone $3000.  It is "windowed", ... which means one can see through the center of the gem ... very poor cutting of the gem ... which means the value is very little!!!

This gem also has multiple fissures (cracks) ... ONLY a VVS Emerald would sell for $3,000 per carat.

Ivan also has a Burma Ruby for sale .. states it is 100% Natural ..but heated! ... It isn't 100% Natural if heated ... It may not be filled with glass, but IS FILLED with something else ... this is why Rubies are heated .. to fill the cracks.

Be very wary of The Stone Giants wording on any item he puts up!
