I would like to start off by saying that I understand how each and everyone of you feel. There is little detail on what you are doing, what you are selling and even how or what you are going to be paid. I was just as confused when I was ran into the office for an interview then wisked 45 mins away for my "interview". I did not realize that I was going to be gone all day. i ended up in a cramped car with a bunch of people talking about "certs", what the hell are "certs" and where the hell are we going!! Confused as all hell, I am talking with my meantor the whole way trying to figure out, all the questions that I had.
Now, would I say this is a career by any means, want to walk around and sell door to door? This is up for you to decide based on your experiences. I never was not paid for the work that I provided, never was I shorted any pay on any evening that I cashed in my product. To say they are not a valid product would be untrue as I have now bought "certs" from others I see come through my office from time to time. Never been turned away with product I have bought, yes you are the foot soilders but we all can't start off comfortable. Nor be "rippedoff" when the sales tactics got us in the door. Was or is Mark a good sales guy because he used sales techniques? Created some intrigue, interest, maybe some supply vs demand? Good salesmanship? He might have a method that holds true in all the sales world.
I will say this experience is different, can you succeed, maybe. There is opportunity, depends what you feel the opportunity may be for yourself. Do you want to build your own business as advertised? Or take the sales training that is offered on a personal one on one basis on a daily basis, which is a sales 101 training course. Spending time in morning working your pitch and rebuttals one on one?
Look I wanted to sit behind a desk and make money as a young gun, know clearly what I am getting into before I am even arriving for an interview as well. I didn't understand a word Mark said to me either durning the interview, but this does not mean that I have not Feel, Felt, Found you by this point.

You detailed out exactly what happened to me today! Mark Kernan was the worst interviewer ever and couldn't understand a word he said! At the time of my interview, there were 3 others in the room all young and female... at least they know there targer market I guess. I'm a recent college grad and have been applying for months now. All of a sudden, I have been getting call backs but 3 out of 5 of them were all marketing/advertising scams including Sports Plus. They're wasting my time! How can we stop this?

I worked for this company for a while and discovered how large of a scam it really was. Mark Kernan an imigrant, legal or illegal I dont know, is the head of this sales scheme. It is a pyramid program that involves misleading others to get them to join your so called TEAM and develop them into Account Managers just so you can get promoted. You are promissed money that you never receive, the hours are form 7:00am to 8:00pm every day Monday thru Friday and thats on a slow week and 9am to 5pm on Saturdays. If you dont work these hours they pull you in the office and cuss you out and tell you to get the "F" out. They use military like tactics boardering on the line of illegal...AKA..(Disorderly Conduct). They pay in cash at the end of everyday and they take out no taxes. They discriminate against older people, they dont even look at older people for employment, they prey on the young, niave, and fresh out of college looking for a job individuals. They laugh when you say this is scetchy, and they lie to people who call in telling them they make $35,000.00 salary and that they dont go door to door. I have news for you my friends, its Business to Business with long hours and commission only which is paid in cash at the end of the day to you. Please be cautious if you want to work for this company.
