Ripoffreport Report Image Tiran Zaken aka Nick Lasorsa is a con artist that should be in jail. This man must be stopped. I got ripped off $174 by this so called company and I am seeing on this board that others are too. I had located some bath robes from a company and they wanted to clear them, so we set up an agreement.

They sent 3 samples to Zaken aka Lasorsa in NY and I sent them all the paper work with the information. This was 4 months ago and I have never heard back from Zaken/Lasorsa.

I tried to call and e-mail them, but got no response. The company that I was dealing with is thinking about a lawsuit against them!

I hope they do it so bad. I would love to see Zaken/Lasorsa in the slammer! These people or person have to be stopped right now!

My wife showed me the Zaken brochure yesterday. My first thought was 'this is too good to be true'. I've seen and tried out 'too good to be true' gimmicks and 90% of them I found out later were scams. Here's a word of advice - If you see something that promises you enormous amounts of money with little effort, there's a strong possibility that it's a scam. I'm glad I did and now I'm not complaining about losing money. Do your homework first!!!

I also received the info from this company in the mail, then called to have the info sent. I received the info, but wish I had found this site first. The federal govt. needs to crack down on all these scam artists. But scam artists have been around for a long time, and sites like this alert people to these companies. This next sentence is for Chris: who is/was looking for a legitimate business. He is my email Chris:[email protected]. My wife and I got involved in a company and did do our homework before entering into this business. I hav'nt got rich yet, but it looks legit. If anyone else wants info contct me also. Thanks, hopefully this guy will be put out of business.

THIS IS TO ANGELIQUE FROM SAN LEANDRO, CALIFORNIA, I UNDERSTAND YOUR PAIN GIRL, WE ARE ALL GOING THROUGH TOUGHT TIMES AND I HOPE YOU DON'T GET RIPPED OFF..

YOU KNOW WHAT!I was mad as hell reading all 17 pages of that Zaken B.S. Usually I just skim over it to and in one minute I can tell. I actually sent a rush order and when I called the girl, obviously with little or no experience told me they were real busy and got a lot of unexpected responses, umm..I was led to believe there was only suppose to be 50 people they were waiting for...after that I knew something was fishy..then i kept calling and no one would answer the phone..few minutes later the automated service responded and instead of it just playing music and a regular recording it just hung up on me. when I finally found someone, they were rude and i yelled at them for not rushing my order, as a matter of fact, it wasn't even processed yet, ( lucky me)! MY BOYFRIEND LENT ME THE MONEY AND HE WAS MAD BECAUSE HE THOUGHT IT WAS A SCAM TOO! I DIDN'T WANT TO BELIEVE THAT THOUGH. Sure enough, something told me to type in the company name and I did and the FIRST THING THAT POPPED UP WAS THE NEGATIVENESS AND FEEDBACK, GOD WAS WATCHING OVER ME; HE KNEW I WENT IN THIS BLIND. I NOW BETTER NOW. AFTER A WHILE I GOT FRUSTRATED WITH CALLING OVER AND OVER AND SAID FORGET IT, THAT'S WHEN I STARTED MY RESEARCH AND IT PAID OFF!!! YA'LL WATCH OUT NOW. THERE ARE LOTS OF MONEY MAKING PROGRAMS JUST LIKE THIS....BE VERY CAREFUL....AND I CALL MYSELF A COLLEGE STUDENT!!!!

Are the Zaken Company and Zaken Corporation one in the same?

#7Consumer Comment

Sun, October 19, 2003

I received this information a couple of days ago. I thought I would research it and I am glad I did. I am seeing Zaken Company of Granada Hill, CA and Zaken Corp. of Chatsworth, CA. Can anyone tell me if they are the same company? If so, how is it possible for them to be able to operate under 2 different organization types in 2 different cities? Likewise, does anyone know of a legitimate home business opportunity? They all seem to be bull.

I just purchased this thing a couple of days ago and I really wished that I came on here to check it out first. I've been scammed so many times before and I'm only 20. I just wish that this was legitamate because I borrowed the money from my unborn baby's savings account and really had to convince my fiance to do it. When I brought up this website you dont know how my heart sunk. I can't work and my fiance is breaking his back to make ends meet to support me.

I thought I could help him out by using this and change our lives around, I cant believe I'm ABOUT to get scammed out of $167! I hope these people really pay for what they are doing by the judicial system and by God!

Accidental Blessing! ..I thank all those who made this web-page possible

#9Consumer Comment

At 68 years old, you'd think I would know better, but I almost was lured in this questionable business. I thank all those who made this web-page possible; you saved me more grief and depression.

For over two years I have struggled to make ends meet. I have roamed the streets trying to find work answering phones, but nobody wants to hire an old man in a wheel chair - not even to answer their phones.

I have been 'taken' by so many of these 'offers' that I am ashamed of myself. But all I ask is 3 meals a day, and being able to pay my bills.
In the past I have done without just about everything to try some offer, and all I succeeded in doing - was making the 'other' richer.
We try to live as we were taught, but we are not allowed to. All I ask is a chance.

If a man like Zaken is so rich - why can't he hold on check 'uncashed' for six months? Why can't he take out a Life Insurance policy on me? He would surely get his money - probably fast because of his kind and their scams.

I had received one of those advertisements in the mail, too, and I always like to check them on the internet to see if they are legitimate -- some are, some aren't. Since many comments are from people in California, who have been ripped off, I think that when you're in the same state as the company, you have a better idea of what they're about. I'm avoiding it because I've seen this before, and there are legitimate businesses out there, but they take some hard work and spare time hours, like Scott Vanderweel's program for real estate or gumball machines -- he said don't quit your job until you are earning twice as much as you make, preferably until one year. He didn't even estimate how much a person would make. I like that.

This company sounds like one that I would hate. I think a lot of us should write to the magazines that feature home-based businesses, and have them report on businesses to AVOID as well as legitimate ones! Perhaps we need a magazine that publishes the stories of the victims and the company names of the scammers...!

Once again, thanks to all of you who are telling the truth about this scam, you saved me $174 that I needed for bills anyway.

Here is an idea. I noticed that the web page as well as all other aspects of the Zaken business are low tech, so low tech in fact that a very good computer wiz could probably break into their web site and place a banner or pop up to this site or anything that might warn people about this company. Anyone interested in taking on this assignment?

#12Consumer Suggestion

Sat, July 19, 2003

This is for all of you who think that Zaken or Nick is honest in any way shape or form. I originally joined Quick sell On May 11th 2002. I actually received all of my stuff, and they even reimbursed me for the stationary and Postcards, but only after I filed a dispute with my credit card company. See my Rippoff report on January 9 2003 for my whole story. The point is, that they said they would give me my all of my money back after my first deal. I had a deal, and they purposefully didn't complete it. You really need to read my other report for the full story. Anyway, back in January of 2003 I got a Phone call from some lady calling on Nick's behalf, telling me to write this report, and that Zaken was a crook, which I already knew. But, Nick was the one who botched my first deal, and as far as I can see, he is still with the company. What does that tell you? He told me back in January that Zaken and Quick Sell liquidators was a scam and that Zaken was ripping people off and that he had no intention of selling the products for people, and that he was contacting everyone to write these reports and that he was going to sue him. But tell me this, he worked for Zaken for two years before he told this information, so he was obviously ripping people off right next to Zaken, and again, he is still apparantley working for Zaken. I am still waiting for the phone call that Zaken was supposed to make to me back in October. Again, you will have to read my original report. It is under Lancaster, Ca. As the author on Jan. 9th 2003. But, please people, don't send this guy any money, don't even think about it. He is using your emotions and your need for financial security to play on your greed. It is one of the oldest triggers in the book for sales people, and we all fall victim to it's promises. But, I am pleading with you, if you don't have money, don't be a victim to Zakens promises. He will just take away from you what you could pay your bills with tomorrow.

file a complaint with the County of Los Angeles Department of Consumer Affairs

#13Consumer Suggestion

Fri, June 27, 2003

If you are a resident of Los Angeles County and believe you were ripped off, file a complaint with the County of Los Angeles Department of Consumer Affairs. If there is any state action they will work with the Attorney General office. They can also present a case to local prosecutors such as the LA City Attorney, the LA District Attorney if the state isn't interested, and work closely with the Feds (who probably won't touch this).

I have yet to find one person who can show verified proof they made any money with this company by selling closeouts. The only people making money appear to be Zaken. Their product appears to be start up kits.

Undecided on what to do... I am really dissappointed in the reports on the Zaken Corp

#14UPDATE Employee

Fri, June 27, 2003

I have to say what I have read is really interesting. I am really dissappointed in the reports on the Zaken Corp. I am in the program. I dont know what to say. I dont want to have my good name soiled by this company. I have met some great people in this industry. I am working on a deal that could be 30000 plus. If Zaken is a fake not only will it be an embarrassment to me but my company. I found this site by accident, but now Im glad I found it. I invested time and energy into this thing. I was never charged the 174 for some reason but only .02 cent for some reason. If they are a fake it will jepordize my name in future business transactions. Im not defending or going against them but Im really upset right now. This deal could be lifechanging for me. How could they get away with this for so long? Ive followed all of their instructions to the tee. I really hope this isnt a scam. Ive met some nice people at there company, but it did trouble me that for a company that does so much business they dont have a website, a voicemail box, or a toll free number. Those are standard with most big companies because it get you exposure and customer satisfaction. Im really upset and confused please say it aint so. i will be giving theem a call tomorrow.

I did have the option to buy lists and also stationary, ect. from Zaken. But, I was never pushed to do so. In the original materials, I received information on how to get company names and also suggestions on how to get stationary from other sources. I did my own letterhead and found my own companies.

I have been calling Zaken, just about every other day, since I started this business. I have always had somebody answer my questions. If the first person I talked to could not, they found somebody who could. I am very happy so far and I am going to keep going forward. I will write more when I have more to tell.

After getting a negative reading on them I became skeptical

#17Consumer Comment

Wed, March 05, 2003

I recently received Zaken's 18 page booklet. My first thought after reading was "Boy, I'd better respond soon because I want to get in on the ground floor of this operation." But, since I have been burned before, I checked the BBB.

After getting a negative reading on them I became skeptical. Then I thought: What If these people did not follow the instructions on what to do? or Maybe these people were too impatient or wanted things to happen overnight.

Well then I came to this site and after reading the responses posted by actual "REAL PEOPLE" like myself I think that I should learn from others mistakes.

I received the 18-page letter yesterday. I was seriously considering the opportunity as it seemed simple, logical and so forth. Glad I checked the net. Are any of these opportunities for real?

Anyway, my suggestion for everyone is to check for complaints before considering any opportunity. In the case of Zaken, it's obvious that the 50 number was just a come-on and that he can't do what he claimed. I thank your website as you are the only ones with the information.

BBB of NY Report on The Zaken Company

#21Consumer Comment

Tue, June 18, 2002

I checked out The Zaken Company with the BBB of NY and California. The CA BBB give the company an unsatisfactory report. The BBB of NY says they have had 15 complaints since 2/1/2000. 7 of these in the past 12 months. There was full adjustment of 11 complaints, partial adjustment of 2 complaints, and there are 2 disputed complaints.

I am still contemplating investing in this company. It appears from the above that Zaken does make efforts to deal with complaints. One not only has to evaluate the legitimacy of this operation but the legitimacy of complaints. One has to consider that some people will complain about anything and everyone. They could have bad results because they didn't follow the program instructions or they expected immediate payment for referrals. Zaken may not be able to make a deal with every company one refers to him. He states that usually he can make a deal in 1 out of 10 tries but it may be 1 in 30. So if one is going to participate, you can't expect immediate payment for referrals made. It will require a certain amount of patience. (By the way, I am not a relative or associate of Zaken and am not apologizing for any of his failures to honor his agreements.)

I won't invest unless I hear that there are actually people out there who are satisfied with their results in working with this company. If you are out there PLEASE let us know and give your name and address so we will be able to discern whether you are for real or a relative or associate of Zaken's.

Solicitation by Zaken Company

#22Consumer Comment

Tue, June 18, 2002

On 6/17/02 I received a solicitation letter and FREE confidential report on "How to Use the Power of My Wealth-Building Technique and my Personal Association to Make $4,280 (but Probably MUCH MORE) This Month, Each Month, from your Home , in Your Spare time...."

This 18 page brochure from Tiran Zaken stated that he buys closeout merchandise from all around the country and sells it to buyers for huge profits. Many of his buyers are large chain stores. This offer was being made to the first 50 persons who answered and sent in $148 and agreed to work with him for one month and then provide information as to how much money they made during that period and be willing to use their name and picture in his promotional material. He then planned to sell the instructional material to other people for $2,495. He made it clear that we would not be partners but would receive 50% of the profits he makes on the purchase and resale of the products we locate. All we were to do is to make contacts with businesses who have items they wish to dispose of at steep discounts and he would then make them offers to purchase the items and then resell them. We were only to send him the information about who to contact regarding items available for purchase....usually overstocked items, discontinued merchandise, excess inventory, etc.

I was about to send him the $148 because it seemed like such an easy money maker. Complete with a 100% money back guarantee in the first 30 days and a $250 money-back guarantee good for 2 years plus a free gift worth $89.

However, I decided to see what I could find out about Zaken on the internet. So I went to Google and typed in Tiran Zaken California scam and came up with this site.

I am wondering if there is anyone out there who has actually worked his program and made money. If so, I'm sure everyone would like to know. Please post your experience below!

Write to the Attorney Genaral of CA we need more to complain about Zaken/QSL

#25Consumer Suggestion

Thu, March 14, 2002

If you do not get a refund soon I would suggetest writing to the attorney general of California. I have provided the address below.

I have sent Zaken several letters requesting a refund because they never sold anything I found. I encourage anyone and everyone who has been taken by this company to write a formal complaint against Zaken and send it to both the attorney generals of California where they are now and New York City and the federal trade commission. I received a response from Attorney Generals office that was encouranging that they will contact Zaken and they will keep my complaint on file to use as evidence against them if they have to take legal action. I'm sure if they receive more complaints from people they will make this a priority. I encourage all of you to write to:

Bill Lockyer
Attorney General
State of California
Department of Justice
P.O.Box 944255
Sacramento, CA 94244-2550

For New York

You can file a complaint on the attorney generals of New York website.

Also write a letter the editor or advertising manager of any magazine you see their ads being run in. If you get those post cards for business opportunities in the mail write a letter them warning them about this company. Make sure to emphasize that now that they know about these crooks they have a responsibiltie to protect their own credibility and their readers from these crooks. It will take number of different people to get a response. I encourge all of you to write to these sources. If you want to get your refunds you need to get California to take legal action.

Good Luck
