I then get an email:
"Your order has been received. Please call us at 800-958-0054 to confirm your order within 24 hours, so we may have your order shipped out to you as soon as possible.
Order ID: 670xxx
Order Date: Wed Aug 15 12:29:34 2007"
Then I got another email:
"Please call james from our order confirmation department at ext: 201 to confirm your order at 800-958-0054"
I call the number: I am asked to confirm my address and phone number.
I am then told that the battery that comes with the camera is only good for about 20 minutes. I told them that I only take a few photos at a time so 20 minutes is fine. Then he tells me that the camera does not come with a memory card and the camera will only take about 6 photos. I say that that is just fine. I have a 512 Panasonic memory card that I can use if I need more photos.
The guy on the phone then says: "O.K., Fine" and hangs up.
Almost immediately I got another email stating:
"Dear: (my name deleted),
We thank you for your order and appreciate you shopping with us .
Due to the product you ordered being out of stock for 6-8 weeks from today's date. We have cancelled the order . when or if we get the product again in stock soon will send you an email to place an order please do not resubmit your order again . sorry again and thanks for your understanding ."
Bait and switch in it's perfect form.
Why doesn't New York / New Jersey have a Attorney General that will close this type of shop.
