On 11/7/07, I ordered a Sony DCR-SR42 Digital Handycam from Thedigitalnerds.com. I found their site on a price-comparison search engine. When they confirmed my order, they stressed that I had to call them to complete the order. I e-mailed back that I didn't want to talk with anyone, and that I didn't want to buy anything other than the camera.
After several telephone calls from them, I called them back last night, 11/8/07. They tried desperately to sell me other items. I stressed that this was a gift, and the recipient could purchase whatever else they wanted to go with it. The man said, "You're giving them a camera without a battery???" I told him that the ad indicated that it came with a battery. He indicated that that battery would only last about 10-15 minutes. I told him that I didn't care. It would get the recipient a start.
He finally figured out that I wasn't buying anything else. He said my order would be processed.
Well, today, I received the following e-mail from
[email protected]:
"We thank you for your order and appreciate you shopping with us .
Due to the product you ordered being out of stock for 6-8 weeks from today's date. We have cancelled the order . when or if we get the product again in stock soon will send you an email to place an order please do not resubmit your order again . sorry again and thanks for your understanding ."
I'm sure they just wouldn't sell it to me for the price they advsertised, since I didn't buy everthing else they wanted to sell to me.
Beware of this company!
