On April 7th 2014 I ordered, online, a camera package through thedigitalpros.com they called me to verify my order, but really it was to up-sell me the battery and charger. I said I wasn't sure if the prices on those were good through them, so I need time to check it out. The sales rep said they only had one more in stock, that I should get it now and tried to pressure me into purchasing, so I cancelled the order altogether thinking I could always re-order. I called to reorder and the same voice answered, he was not cooperative at all. Again he tried to up sell the "American" version to me (of a Nikon?) for $150 more. I asked for his name he said Jonathan, I then asked his last name and he refused. I asked to speak to his manager; he said he was the manager, told me to go pay retail and hung up.

After being hung up on, I decided to look into this company a little more and found, on the BBB website, their physical address of 495 Grand Blvd, Ste 206, Miramar Beach, FL 32550-1897 which is actually another company all together. According to Google Maps, it is for paddyandlily.com I found out this is a photography studio. I went to the website and was re-directed to another one with the name of http://twolightsphotography.com, I know that websites can change names or re-direct to the "new" site, so that didn't strike me as odd, until I noticed that the number they called me on was from New York and they are supposedly in Florida?? I used a reverse directory to make sure I was correct and my cell phone didn't lie, the call was from New York, it said Level 3 VoIP in New York, NY...What the heck is that? So I looked it up and this is what I found; Level 3 is a VoIP company that lets you "Add virtual phone numbers from other area codes or countries — giving you a local presence — without a local office." So if they are really based out of New York and not Florida and they have a fake address in Florida...Now I am thinking that these people don't even exist. I am incredibly grateful that I didn't actually purchase anything from these scam artists! But I will be checking my credit card for a while to be sure nothing appears that shouldn't be there!
