Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

BEWARE:  TheLotter arbitrarily freeze your account & require you to send ID, even when they say they don't.  Note how they DEMAND you provide all details about yourself (Name, Address, Phone number, etc) yet REFUSE to even give you their postal address.

I thought they were in INDIA...in fact, they claim they are in Malta.  Why Malta?  Anyone know what scam/lack of law enforcement that Malta allows them to get away with??

After joining TheLotter and spending close to $100, I got the following Email with no further explanation:

Dear Customer,

We wish to inform you that your account has been permanently frozen.

The system automatically freezes an account when one or more of the following situations occur:

A new customer makes a large deposit

A customer submits a different credit card with every purchase

A customer renounces purchases on the site

A credit card company refuses charges because the credit card has been reported stolen or blocked

To resolve this matter as soon as possible, please send scans of your payment method and the corresponding I.D. to [email protected]

If we do not hear from you within 30 days, your account will be permanently closed.

If you believe you have received this email in error, do not hesitate to contact us by email or live chat for further assistance.

Best,

Customer Support Team

When I joined TheLotter 6 months ago, I was very careful to ensure they did not need ID to claim prizes; otherwise I wouldn't have joined and paid any money.

To find they now want ID is absolutely unacceptable.

Furthermore, there is NO WAY that I am sending ANY ID by email due to Identity Fraud and 'Adrian' from 'VIP SERVICES' subsequently told me they have no Postal Mail address!

I have done research into this business. Ilan Price is the CEO and owner of TheLotter.com and has been named in the 'Panama Papers' at Mossack Fonseca. If that doesn't tell you something, nothing else will.

The 'Customer Service Desk' is actually based out of BANGALORE, INDIA. Very dodgy!

I will demanding that they permanently close my account. I want nothing further to do with this dodgy business.

BE VERY CAREFUL OF SPENDING MONEY WITH THELOTTER.COM

STAY AWAY!

Hello Alex!

I am sorry to hear you are disappointed with our service. We are a serious company, who has been active for 14 years, with millions of satisfied customers. We have paid out millions in wins, including jackpots, and have a dedicated support team working around the clock to handle customer queries.

As such, we find your comments unjustified and untruthful.

I will not go in to case specific details, but will answer in general:

1. We do not require ID to claim prizes. We do require ID documentation when there is a suspicion of fraudulent activities in an account. This is a standard measure in our industry. When such a suspicion arises, the account is frozen, until further documentation can prove everything is in order with the account. This happens e.g. when a user opens several different accounts with the same details.

2. We do not recommend our clients to send documents of sensitive nature by post.

3. Our customer support team is not situated in India, but in Malta.

4. Our CEO is not named Ilan Price and he has not been mentioned in any of the Panama Papers.

Finally, and most importantly, we do not take any money from the customers' accounts and keep it for ourselves. We charge a service fee for our services, which is clearly stated in several places on the website.

If you wish to unfreeze your account and continue playing, you will be able to so so when you have sent your scanned documents. If you wish to permanently delete your account, please send a request to Customer Support at: [email protected]

Please do not hesitate to get back to us if you have any further questions!

Best regards,

theLotter.com
