Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I was interested in purchasing a vehicle so I test drove a few SUVs at Thrifty Auto Sales and decided on a Chevrolet Tahoe. The payment was right, the interest rate was right, so I drove the truck home that day. I gave them $2000.00 cash for a downpayment, I signed the contract, and I thought I was done.

I got a call from the dealer about 2 weeks later saying the contract I had signed was no good, and that I no longer qualified for the loan on this truck. I needed to go back in and requalify. Somehow, mysteriously, at the same time, the guy who processed my loan disappeared. It seems he had been "transferred out" to another location so I couldn't talk to him to ask him why he told the deal was final and how they were re-nigging on it. I showed them my signed contract. They showed me the fine print. It said they could change anything at any time and the contract would be null and void. Nice.

They asked me for a whole bunch of information. They wanted utility bills, bank statements, proof of residence, proof of child support, proof of divorce, proof of everything ang get this- 6 names of references and their phone numbers and addresses!!! I have over a 700 credit score, I did not understand the problem. They said my interest rate had to be "revised", and that meant over doubling!!!! They wanted to raise it to over 15%!!! They wanted to extend my loan another 12 months and were renigging on the one year guarantee of the truck. They were trying to milk me for almost another $10,000 dollars!!! Stay away from Thrifty. I promptly demanded my down payment back, gave them their keys back and got the hell out of there!! I went to Tom Bannen Chevrolet and bought a nicer truck at a better price and their word actually held up. They gave me a loan and a good interest rate, and guess what? They didn't call me in 2 weeks trying to screw me over. Thanks Tom Bannen.

Here is how you expose deceptive car delaers!

#2Consumer Suggestion

Hey J what happend to you goes on across the country. Car dealers think they can do what ever they want to car buyers because they know that the media will not expose their dirty scams and rip Off's. Call it a under the table pay off. Car dealers give the media, that being TV stations, Newspapers and Talk radio stations big money for advertising and they never get exposed. Most car dealers hate this web site because they can't have their Rip Off reports deleted. Now you might like checking out this Rip Off Report. Go look at all 4 pictures that are posted on this Rip Off Report. This car dealer now hates their Rip Off Report. www.badbusinessbureau.com/reports/ripoff138219.htm Now you might ask why is it that the media will not go after new and used car dealers. They all love the big money they get from car dealers. Email the below people and ask they why is it that they are not willing to help expose scams in the auto industry. Use the following email addresses and ask they all why they will not do insider stories on car dealers. They will some crap like "It's not news people want to hear about" or "We have much more important things to report about" No form of local or national media will ever bite the big hands that feed them. Put these below to the test and ask them all why they keep their mouths shut when it comes to auto dealer Rip Off's Email or call all of these "Microphone MUTTS" at 550 KFYI and ask them why they will not let car buyers AIR THEIR car dealer troubles LIVE on 550 KFYI. Use the following contacts and let them HAVE IT for not airing shows about scams in the auto industry. Ask these Microphone Mutts if they will have a day only devoted to only callers that are willing to tell all of their car buying horror stories! Post their replies on this Report. I would love to read them. Bruce Jacobs is on from 5AM till 8AM. You can email him at [email protected] Barry Young is on from 8AM till 10 AM Call him up at 602-258-5394 Email him and ask him why he will not chat about car dealers. His email is [email protected] Tom and Austin are both on at the same time and their email addresses are [email protected] and [email protected] They are both on from 4PM till 7PM Joe Crummey is on from 7PM to 10 PM. Email him at [email protected] Trust me they will not chat "Live on the AIR" about car dealer Rip Offs and scams! They say their station is a "TALK RADIO" Station. So let us talk! Microphone Mutts will never expose the auto industry. They will say some crap like, It's boring or no body wants to talk about car buying scams. Trust me everybody knows of a car dealer that they HATE! Car buyers are not informed of car dealer Rip Offs or scams because it sure seems to me that advertising money is much more important then informing consumers of Rip Offs. See if you can get then to chat about any of the following Rip Off Reports regarding car dealers. This one has some GREAT PICTURES and is informative! www.badbusinessbureau.com/reports/ripoff138219.htm Go tell these Media Mutts to look at this Rip Off Report. I had a long chat with this car buyer. She sent me a copy of her altered credit application. Banks across the country are receiving fraudulent credit applications everyday and they don't know it. www.ripoffreport.com/reports/ripoff52158.htm www.badbusinessbureau.com/reports/ripoff135416.htm This car dealer was breaking a Federal law. www.badbusinessbureau.com/reports/ripoff38266.htm Here is one that is informative! www.badbusinessbureau.com/reports/ripoff5183.htm The American consumers are not informed of car dealer Rip Offs because your favorite form of media does not want to expose car dealers and their wicked ways. Now I give you local TVstation contacts. Send them all an email and ask why they do NOT do stories on car dealers. You can contact the FOX10 NewsDesk by calling 602-262-5109 or by fax at 602-262-0181. You can also e-mail the assignment desk at [email protected]. or use this email address. [email protected]. Notice that when you go to this URL none will post their email addresses. www.fox10.com/inside/bios.shtml Next I give you ABC's 15 Use these email address and ask why they do not do insider stories on new car dealers. [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] Next we have CBS's local TV 5 [email protected] NEWS TIPS - 602-650-0711 [email protected] TV 5 has a investagative team. Contact them at [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] I think that all car buyers that have been Ripped Off or scamed by a car dealer should file a Rip Off Report and they should aslo mention the TV station or radio staion that aired the car dealers commercial. If a radio station or TV station got you to go to a deceptive car dealer, then you should expose the radio station or TV station in your Rip Off Report. If a TV station or radio station gets mentioned in many Rip Off Reports about a car dealer, maybe they will not want the car dealer's advertising money anymore. EXPOSE ALL!

Perfect, I wish more people would stand up, say " no thank you sir" and walk away. It is possible that the dealership was acting in good faith and could not find a lender to buy your car loan. They would need more info (utility bills, references, ect.)to then get it done. You, however, being an educated consumer knew that your should qualify for a normal interest rate and did not allow the dealership to bump you. They were likely hoping that you had fallen in love with the vehicle and would not want to give it up (paying a high interest rate to keep it) This was perfect, exactly what you should have known and done, tell them it is unacceptable and take your business elsewhere. Thank you for telling your story and giving other customers out there a perfect example of what to do if they were to find themselves in the same position you were in. Good job, I hope you enjoy your new vehicle.
