On 12/3/2005 I purchased a motherboard and CPU with a $50 rebate offer (1N-1952) on the Celeron 340. On 12/12/2005 I obtained a copy of the invoice (#E3295271) from [email protected] and went through the OnRebate Registration routine to obtain my confirmation number and obtained my Rebate Form.

On 12/12/2005, I completed the rebate form and signed it, attached the UPC/EDP at the bottom of the form with a staple, and enclosed it with the invoice in an envelope upon which I taped a copy of the address I cut off a copy of the rebate form. I affixed a 37 cent on the envelope and deposited it in the mail box at the Covina post office.

On 1/12/2006 I received an email subject OnRebate Status Change. Upon checking the status change I was informed the rebate request was rejected for lack of signature.

Having gone through this once before with TigerDirect, I knew to photocopy each step of the process and have a witness to the mailing of the package. I pulled up my file and found the original rebate form photocopy signed and dated before it was mailed.

Last time I went through this process, I ended up referring the matter to the State's Attorney General as fraud after one year of run-around. Surprisingly, I received the rebate within days after the Attorney General contacted TigerDirect.

This time I will not waste money on postage and certified mail and I will not be patient.

For the benefit of anyone following this complaint, I sent the following e-mail in response to Nadina. Nadina, I have no idea to what rebate offer UL-1182 applies. I applied for rebate offer IN-1952. I did go to www.onrebate.com entered my tracking number and received status stating the rebate was denied for lack of signature. (See attached PDF file Status.pdf which was my original denial) You suggest that I go to confirm my email and get a form. This had been done originally. (See attached PDF files Confirm1.pdf and Confirm2.pdf) I have attached a photocopy of the Original Rebate Form as mailed to OnRebate on 12/12/2005. (See attached PDF file Original Rebate Form.pdf) Please note that this form was signed and dated.

Today, this email was sent to: '[email protected]' On the 12th of January, I posted the following on http://badbusinessbureau.com/reports/ripoff171565.htm Based upon some other posts, it appeared that OnRebate was responding to these complaints and, possibly, I had erred in my negative assessment of TigerDirect.com. I guess I was wrong in doubting my appraisal. So, I will try an email direct to you. Almost anything is better than the crap I was put through the last time I fought for a TigerDirect rebate. My patience has worn thin. No honest company puts its customers through this kind of hell. Tom ------------- (A copy of the Complaint was included)
