TheTileApp ( or Tile App ) by Tile Inc. did a Kickstarter-style product launch back in July of 2013 - something they called a "Selfstarter Campaign." This was for a product they described as a "Lost-Item Tracker."

This is supposed to be a mobile bluetooth device that you attach to things like your keys, your purse, your suitcase or whatever and if the item is lost, it assists in finding the item through your mobile phone and a global lost and found network.

Problem is I order several, spending over $100 and they LOST IT? ...how ironic.

On July 21, 2013 4:04:29 PM MST they confirmed my order and tagged me as BACKER #35273.

On the same day they confirmed my order.

UPDATE...

After waiting over 1 year for delivery of my Tile lost and Found Mobile devices, I finally got an email from the company on 9/16/2014. Not an email informing they were shipping my product, but an email advertisement trying to get me to send them more money.

So I wrote to them and after a couple of weeks back and forth with their customer support, I was informed that they lost my order, or that maybe I did not pay!

I gave the company ample time to resolve this matter and in the end they offered nothing. Oh except to say if I ordered again, I could get in back into my "spot." Remember, I've waited OVER one year already.

Here is how they put it:

"if you place a new pre-order, we would be happy to re-instate your original spot in the queue."

RECOMMENDATION:

Do not do business with TheTileApp or the Tile INC company. Maybe some folks got their product, but I did not. If a lost and found company tells you they lost your order and after a ONE YEAR wait can only correct their error by asking you to BUY AGAIN and they'll put you back on their waiting list? ???? Well? to me, that sounds like a scam.

Sorry that your initial order was not handled properly. Customer support is very important to us, and we are sorry that those first few months of "pre-orders" took longer to arrive then expected. If you want to email us your order on our support channels, we would be happy to fix this for you if they never ended up coming. 

I just wanted to give an update in that in the last 18 month's we've shipped over 2 Million Tiles & we currently ship next day to USA, Canada, Austraila, & the UK.  You can also purchase Tiles in the USA from Amazon & any T-Mobile retail store.

I think I found where my money went….

I just read this on Zdnet:

Founders are dishonest..

Don't forget that the founder @thenickevans was personally sued for stealing this idea while working for someone else (Coon vs. Nick Evans). He used all that good faith SelfStarter money to settle the lawsuit. Very untrustworthy. Not someone I want tracking my location information. Product is too little too late from some highly questionable founders.
 
Tile INC stole my money, plain and simple.
