Time Warner Cable And Digital Phone Service Deceptive marketing, causing me to pay 1000's of dollars for international calling Corpus Christi Texas
My story starts with looking for international phone service and I already had time warner phone service. I have a foreign fiancee and when I saw their ad for international calling I was so excited. I read their first page about calling and it never said about how you call, just call!! I went through the web site and was nervous because I wanted to make sure I would not be riped off. I thought I covered everything, all the bases, but when I recieved my bill for $1353.00 I thought it was a mistake. No, it was no mistake. I was told that I cannot call mobile phones overseas. I told the man that I never read that anywhere. I looked at the site and could not find it. I went overseas to see my woman and when I returned, I recieved my second bill of about the same amount! I could not believe this was happening to me. I called them again and the man said that it was in black and white. I looked again at the ad and the web site just two days ago and I finally found the "fine print" on the last page of the site, after the listing of all the countries you can call!!! No where in the first page or second page, in fact it was the last page which no one in their right mind would ever look for! The company is being deceptive by hiding the fine details on the last page. See, I went through the whole process of signing up and I asked the man on the phone about the service and he never told me we cannot call cell phones either. When you sign up, you do not think there is more information past the country listings because the page looks like this: ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ, listing all the possible countries. No information sends you to the fine print or how you can call, it all appears that you just can call. I feel ripped off! I want to sue them for deceptive practices. The fine print and information about how you can call SHOULD be on the first page. I thought I had all the information I needed to make a good decision, but the company "hid" the information at the end. When I made a payment on the bill, which I will have to make payments, the man on the phone told me of a poor woman who has a 5,ooo bill because she too had the same experience by calling her son in IRAQ!!! Time Warner is cheating us!
