I am not a employee of this company but i would like to say that i don't think they where trying to take you for $90.00 that is hardley worth there time, if they where going to take you for a ride it would be for several hundred or even thousand dollars. Batterys are checked several ways the two most common are a load test which forces the battery to work droppoing the voltage to 9.6 volts for ten seconds.(a good test for the most part) the other is conductance testing which dosen't load the battery but checks its circurity internally(a even better test) this system has a print out telling the tech if the battery is good or bad befor failure. I am guessing that TP used this test. Did checker give you a print out also which told you the condition of the battery. Is the person at checker a certified ASE technician? Tires Plus usually hires ASE techs. If the person at TP that checked your battery isn't certified then he shouldn't be checking your battery, the same goes for the checker guy.A good way to tell if you are being taken for a ride or oversold is if they give you a grocrey list of problems even though you are doing your REGULAR MAINTENCE(if you don't do your maintence then you can expect a list of repairs that are accurate). I wonder is this is you first issue with this shop if so shame on you, if not shame on them.Good luck and ask for ASE or College trained people ONLY to work on your car, also contact your lawmaker and ask for state required licsensing for repair technicians and to make flat rate pricing illegal.
