On September 11, 2012 I called Jason Taylor, owner of Taylormade Plumbing, and asked for a quote on a bathroom renovation and installation that I needed to have done. I was referred to him by a reliable and licensed electrical engineer with whom Mr. Taylor works. The electrical engineer has done several jobs for me, in my previous Kitchener home and now in my Cambridge home. Of course, I welcomed his reference that came with high recommendation. Mr. Taylor came to my home that very day and gave me an estimate of time and cost that I found to be both competitive and reasonable. I agreed to have Taylormade Plumbing and Renovations do the installation of a tandem washer-dryer that required a fair amount of prep-work before installation as well as the normal amount of finishing work after installation. He required a modest and reasonable amount of money for the down payment, which I assume goes to covering some of the cost for materials as well as a security on my part that I will not change my plans on him once he gets started. For any work in the past by other service companies I have had to pay a deposit, sometimes a bit more money up front and sometimes a bit less. When Mr. Taylor came to do the work, he was accompanied by a driver who, as I understand it, manages the accounts and is available should any extra parts be necessary, as was the case the day that Mr. Taylor installed my washer and dryer. Mr. Taylor's colleague had to drive to a nearby hardware store to get some more silver duct tape as the job required a bit more than he had on hand. What I appreciated is that the work did not have to be interrupted while more materials were being purchased - Mr. Taylor continued to do the job on-site while his associate went and purchased the extra material - and it did not cost me any more money for the extra time or extra help. At the end of the project I paid the remainder of the bill, received a receipt, and they were on their way. At all times I found the two of them courteous, respectful and respectable, as well as knowledgeable and efficient. The work was class standard and the cost was, as I already said above, reasonable and competitive. I would not hesitate to recommend TAYLORMADE PLUMBING AND RENOVATIONS to anyone that is honest and wants an honest job done. As an educator who has been asked to write many reference letters over the years, I can say that this service (TM PLUMBING) is what the electrical engineer said he would be: reliable, fair, and honest. I honestly cannot understand the language used against him and his colleague in the report that has been filed against him. One further note, I have more plumbing work to do and have tried to call Mr. Taylor but he has not been available. When I called the electrical engineer to know why, he said Mr. Taylor had been hospitalized for cancer and was now recovering at home. We both hope he will return to full health and be back in business soon. I expect his colleague will also appreciate his return to work as well.
