Understanding The Customers, working for the company was the worst experience of my life also, the company holds no value for customer or employee at all. It was the most dis-organized company I have even seen from the owner Bill to his fat a*s lazy General Manager Angie who has been with the company for a good part of 20 years, all I had ever seen her do is sit at a computer and eat. My position was warehouse, though they made me do occasional driver to pickup and deliver as well a some Quality Control. The company scalps out all its work to the low ball guys who do the wood and fabic, the QC is basically no more then a look and name process from a guy named Sal walking around with a headset listening to rap, with no cleaning, or anything but covering the dirt and any problems with a layer of foam or plastic, and then going back to the general manager who doesn't know anything about anything to say, its ready to go ship it.

The drivers get blame for everything, they have to find the customers furniture at the many warehouses, load the trucks, deliver it, collect the money, try and settle bad dealings, and even repair some furniture in homes, at the sametime do pickups that need to be done instant after the estimator is done with his bullshit story and promises, They work endless hours of overtime with no overtime pay, and no benefits, if they get hurt on the job or sick and must take time off they lose pay. And they get constant blame for marked furniture which is suppost to have been QC-D. Most of the guys that drive are good workers with the exception of a couple or Kevin who loves to sleep bullshit and make the other drivers do the work. As for customers, if you don't get more estimates and go ahead a sign the contract you going to lose money, investigate and get more options, and never believe words, check and read the contract over and over again, and also watch as usually the estimator which is making a call to get you a better deal, he usually has not turned his phone on. The company is just plain bad news, its all about money and no care for the people keeping the business alive. Trust me I know and from the time I was with TMC I had seen enough to make me sick. Not a job for anyone wanting a career or a place to get your antique furniture done.

a Longterm TMC Employee's Take

#2UPDATE Employee

Fri, July 20, 2012

I am a long term TMC employee. I am saddened to see these comments placed here because they are entirely untrue. TMC is an excellent, caring, fair and dedicated employer. The working environment is rich with opportunity and challenges. Job training and potential advancement is available for all employees. There are generous rewards for as job well-done.

I have found that TMC is dedicated to excellence in customer service with highest possible quality results in all our products and services. Continuous improvement in all we do for our customers is critical in our success. TMC absolutely seeks out and retains the finest employee talent throughout the firm for the benefit of our customers.  Some valued employees have been here many years.

The author of this post was with TMC for a very short length of time. He also held the position of 'warehouse,' and was not privy to our sales process, or the responsibilities of our general manager. We feel it is extremely unfair to comment on these topics without any first hand or even second hand knowledge and hope prospective employees and clients see that the same way.

Unfortunately, such customer-focused,  high standards means not everyone has a place here.  I have seen some people simply not meet the admittedly rigorous challenges of the job, despite the opportunities and training offered. I believe TMC need not apologise for such high expectations of myself and all the staff. Both the employee and our customers benefit when such standards are met.

TMC adheres to all Ministry of Labour guidelines.  TMC has been in business at the same location since 1989.  Simply, you can not be in business that long and treat employees and clients the way described above.

TMC Restoration takes great pride in our work and in our company's history.  We also take pride in our people.  Some of our staff has been with TMC for over a decade.

We work hard and a lot is expected from our drivers and sales team.  They are our front-line personnel. That's the nature of our business model, one which has worked for the firm and our
customers for over 20 years.

TMC provides quality restoration to approximately 2500 clients a year.  No service companies are without complaints and we try our best to address all reasonable complaints.  Please see our A rating with BBB as evidence of this.  http://www.bbb.org/kitchener/businessreviews/upholsterers/tmc-restorations-in-brampton-on-17306

Also, please see before and after photographs of our work, our stated policy on repairs, delivery and much more at.
