We bought our male Chocolate lab in March 2005 from Tracey and Trevor. Since then, we have added 3 more Labs to our family (fortunately, NOT from them!). Although we have had minimal health issues with Dugan, he has ALWAYS had skin problems, bad teeth and a very touchy digestive system. He was raised on the identical food the other three have been on--they have had no issues!! Quite honestly, Dugan does not even have the coat of a Lab--evidence of overbreeding and it is my contention that they perhaps mixed in a Weimeriner or two to obtain the silver color they were looking for (making them able to charge a higher price). Looking back, we should have run from their place before purchasing Dugan!! About 5 months after we got him, we decided to get a female and called them about available puppies. Tracy told me she had a chocolate female, which I indicated I would like to purchase. The day before I was to pick her up, I called to let her know what time I would be there. Tracy told me I might have to wait because she had been in a kennel with 2 other puppies that had confirmed cases of Parvo!! But, she promised she would be fine!!!! At that point, although I was very disappointed, I told her I was not interested.
The other breeders I have gotten AWESOME Labs from are Puppy Love Farm in Julian, NC and TP Labs in Missouri. All my girls are quality, well bred, disease and health issue free. Tracy and Trevor need to be put out of business. They are a disservice to good breeders everywhere!
