TOMTOM INTERNATIONAL BV TOMTOM RENIGS ON CHRISTMAS GIFT PROMISE OF $15.00 DISCOUNT ON PRODUCTS BOUGHT BEFORE 14 DEC 09 AMSTERDAM, Netherlands Internet
I received an email from TomTom advertising a $15.00 discount on GPS products if bought before 14 Dec 09. I purhased a map over the internet and was not promted to include a discount code. I had assumed that the discount would be applied to the total-however it wasn't. I complained using their call centre. The response was because TomTom was located in Netherlands that they did not have to honour the $15.00 discount or abide by Australian Fair Trading Act. They further said that because I did not enter this discount code it was my fault.
The $15.00 is not the issue. It is the arrogance which TomTom conducts their business effectively stating because they are located overseas consumers in other countries have no rights.
My mission at the moment is to let others know about TomTom's poor customer relations, service and unethical and unprofessional behaviour.
