On or about December 19, 2014, you, an anonymous person using the name "Steve" authored and cuased to be posted on the website www.ripoffreport.com a report entitled "Tony Hartman Denver Financial Group FINRA complaint and State of Colorado action, Internet." A lawsuit is pending against you in Maricopa Superior Court.  The case is Tony Hartman v. John Does and Jane Does I-X, case no.  CV2016-007261.  Tony Hartman is the plaintiff.  You are one of the John Doe defendants.

Anthony Hartman, a.k.a. Tony Hartman moved from Colorado to Texas after the CO Division of Securities revoked his license. He moved to Plano, TX where he does business as Anthony Hartman of Mark Capital. He has changed his Linkedin profile from Tony to Anthony Hartman and has erased all referencess to his work in Colorado as the head of Denver Financial Group. The book "Right to the Money" mentioned is a 100 page paperback published by a vanity publisher that basically provides blather and nonsense and is given away as a promotional tool. Tony moved to Texas because he was chased out of Colorado since his license was revoked. Do not invest a dime with Tony unless you want to lose it.

I have not meet this person nor done business with him, but I have read his book, Right to the Money.  It has some good checklist ideas that could save headaches, like this:

REDACTED TEXT Tony Hartman’s legal representative protested the use of a quote from Tony Hartman’s book in this Consumer Comment that was favorable to Tony Hartman.   Tony Hartman’s attorney should have contacted Ripoff Report about the alleged copyright matter first, but didn’t. Although Ripoff Report believes that the use of the quote was FAIR USE it appears that Tony Hartman’s legal counsel was trying to get the entire report taken off the internet based on the small amount of material that was positive towards his client.  So, Ripoff Report has removed the quotes from Tony Hartman’s book.

There are so many financial scams out there. I don’t know who this guy is, but I was scammed by a financial advisor, so I wanted to post some tips here to help some others.  When you are looking for a financial advisor here are some questions to ask before you engage with them:

How do you charge for your services, and how much?

What licenses, credentials or other certifications do you have?

What services do you/does your firm provide?

What types of clients do you specialize in?

Could I see a sample financial plan?

What is your investment approach?

How much contact do you have with your clients? 

Will I be working only with you or with a team?

What makes your client experience unique?

Did he or she ask me questions and seem to be interested in me? 

The record on Tony Hartman is available at both the State of Colorado (Division of Securities) and through the Federal government (FINRA.)  It is because of his dishonesty that he is no longer able to sell securities in Colorado.  Be wary of those that say he is honest. The gullible are always easily deceived. Do the research. Check the sources. He no longer can sell securities. It doesn't mattwer if his friends post favorable impressions. The record is clear.
