My son and I went to Town&Country Jeep,Chrysler,Dodge dealership located at 3156 Hempstead Turnpike, Levittown, NY 11756 N.Y. on Sunday October 21,2014 to look at a used 2011 dodge Ram with 25,000.00 miles on it for $22,995.00 that was advertised on the internet. This price was a few thousand less then the asking price for 2011 dodge rams on the internet. The truck appeared to be in mint shape,on the carfax it stated it was in an accident but it said the airbag didnt go off. The salesman told us the dent in the front drivers side bumper was from the accident. We told the salesman that my son had a balance of $11,000.00 owed on his present truck. The manager looked it over and said he would give us $4,000.00 for his truck and pay off the remaining $7,000.00 for a total of $11,000.00 to be paid on his present loan. My son filled out all the paperwork to get approved and we put down a refundable deposit of $100.00,then we were told we had to come back the next day because they were closing. We made an appointment for the next day Monday at 6pm. The next day we arrived at 5:30pm because we wanted to look the truck over in the daylight and test drive it. We were told it was in the garage getting detailed, next thing we know we are asked for my sons keys to his present truck because they wanted to put it on the lift and check it out. Meanwhile a woman walks over to us and introduces herself as Lisa from finance, she tells us that my son has good credit(we already knew that)and that we had three options for payments. She starts telling us that he is approved for 5.9% interest and he has a choice of 7 yrs at $428.00 a month or 6 yrs for $561.00 a month or 5 1/2yrs for $581.00 a month. This was all written down on three seperate sheets of paper. We told her we didnt even get to drive the truck yet but that we were interested in the 7yrs for $428.00 a month at 5.9% we kept asking about getting a test drive and finally we had a chance to drive it. It was now dark out but It drove beautiful and we were happy and told them we want it. Next thing we know we are told that we have to wait for Lisa to finalize the deal, while we are waiting we noticed Lisa is now helping someone else. So now we are sitting there waiting, after  about an hour Lisa comes over to us and tells us there is a problem. She tells us that she didnt know she had to bury $7,000.00 from his truck. I told her right away it was written on the contract, she tried blaming the salesman Steve(he had it written on the contract,I watched him write it)so then she didnt like my answer and she told us being my son is a first time buyer and that changes everything. She also stated I would now have to co-sign a loan for him to get the truck. So now she is telling us 17% interest. I was so mad that I told her she is a scam artist and her response was she is human, she made a mistake. No good finance person makes mistakes like that. I went over and spoke to the manager Joe who wasnt the least bit mad at her,Why? because he is in on the scam. No good dealership is going to allow this to happen. Then to make matters worse we had both our credit ran through the mill and it was late, past 10 pm and they close at 9pm. We were told the interest rate would be 13% we were both exhausted and here we were thinking we are driving this truck home, so we accepted the deal not realizing they had switched contracts on us. They had my son sign twice on one of the pages so it had to be ripped up and re-wrote. Sadly I didnt look over the new contract thinking it was the same one,we got home at 11:55pm and I had to get up for work at 5am. So the next day when I looked over the contract I was sickened. They charged us $33794.92 for the truck a warranty of $2200.00(meanwhile it still has an exsisting warranty)we put$2000.00 down and they added the full $11000.00 onto the price of the truck,so by the time he is done paying this truck off in 8 1/2 years he will be paying$52284.08 just sickening. I wish I would of saw all the bad reviews on them before we went there.
