Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I went to Toyota of Dallas in May of 05. It was my first time buying a car on my own. I went in and told them what i was looking for. They showed me to a Ford focus, So i test drove it and i told the salesman that i wasn't interested. He told me that this is what i can get with my credit (which was good).

I again told him nah not interested and preceeded to walk out the door. He stopped me and told me that he will talk with his manager. The Manager comes out and says that i can keep it for six months, build my credit a lil more and come back and get whatever I want (***Note this was my first time buying a car***). I agreed.

Six months later I go back he tells Me that I'm upside down in the car $8,000, I ask him how could that have happened, He replied by saying business is business. You drove it off the lot now its your problem. I asked him how much is it gonna cost me to get out of it and he told me $4000 to $6000. 3 months later the transmission went out. I get it fixed and now other problems are starting to occur.

I hope people read this and never get into the situation im in now. If there is anyone who can help me get out of this car please help.

I was ripped off in a similar scam by Bankston --they told me to "pay on this for 6 months and rebuild your credit, then you can buy whatever you please" so I purchased a car I did not want. After paying on it for a year I still owed 7000 more than it was worth. I was so angry, I drove to 4 dealerships with no help in sight, they all said i owed too much, "come back next year"...until I heard Toyota of Dallas had a repo sale going on, and would "pay off my trade no matter how much I owe" The man at Bankston laughed at me when I went back trying to trade out after 6 months and after one year!!! So I stroll into Toyota of Dallas and get helped by a hispanic salesperson who barely spoke English...After about an hour of test driving cars a manager 'Ceaser' dismisses my saleperson rather rudly within earshot of me. My salesperson says 'let me talk to the big boss and see if he can help us'--Boy did he ever...The 'big' boss is Roger, and he invites me into his office. At first I was afraid of Roger because he spoke quickly, yet with a southern drawl, and as soon as I answered his questions, he fired another one, he seemed friendly, but intense. He informed me I had almost 9k of inequity now ( I was going backwards) and he had an idea. His solution was for me to call my girlfriend to co sign with me, and we buy two cars together so he could "spread my negative equity over two loans".. It was the best deal I had heard yet, so I did it. My new wife and I have two nice late model cars and I am out of that P.O.S. from Bankston. My payments are affordable, though they did go up considerably, and I couldnt be happier. I read this and several other threads about poor business practices at Toyota of Dallas, and the bad people there, but they are not all bad, at least in my case. I just had to throw my .02 in, those guys went the extra mile and helped me and my wife through being creative and taking care of my inequity, 4 other dealers including Bankston ran me off after all--- Mike
