It is 100% incorrect to say that TCT is illegally taping. This is one thing I can 100% assure you is above board as an employee of the company.
The sales people absolutely state - "do you understand this confirmation call is being taped for quality assurance" and the customer MUST answer "yes" - if they say 'uh, huh' they are told to ask the customer to say "yes" or "no."
It is critical, not just for legal reasons, but to assist in refusing to refund money in dispute - it is the #1 reason they don't give a refund - "Ma'am, that is your voice saying you understood this was nonrefundable, correct" I mean, what do you say to that? not much.
