I moved into the apartment in august of 2011, the fuses were broken and the light didnt work. It forever but the landlord finally had her son fix the fuses, the light still doesnt work in the bedroom, 1 year later. It takes weeks for her to get a repair guy out to fix something after your report it.
My toliet started leaking in februrary, I called her to have someone fix it, it was a small leak but it was still a leak. After constant reminders in May i called upset that it had not yet been fixed. She said they tried but because i had a cat, the repair man couldnt fix it, I then asked if she couldnt get another repair man, as this leak could get bigger and go into the downstair apartment as well as others. This is when she FIANLLY had someone come, the second last week of may.
The day after the repair man removed and fixed the toliet, i noticed that the walls has started to "bubble" and that mositure was on the door and walls of the appartment, when i dried the moisture it would just come back in little drops. I left a message with the landlord but got no return, as i believe she went on vacation. By the the end of the week, i started coughing, at first i thought it was a cold so i just took cold meds. It lasted about 2 weeks before i realize it probably wasnt a cold but it was just a harsh dry cough that wouldnt stop. Because my doctor was away, i went to an afterhour clinic and she said it look like a small infection and gave me inhalers to help. I have never had any type of respiratory problems before so i was concern. By the second week of June i started noticing brown dots all over the celing and walls of the bathroom, they came slowly at first, then multipled. I had someone come look at it and they said, it looked like mold from all the mositure and because there was no vent the heat and water moisture from the bathroom wasnt getting out. Around the end of the second week, i started having problems breathing and was rush to the emergency Room, where they told my i had a respiratory infection and was prescribe some very strong medication. I was told to have continous follow up with my family doctor, because the infection was quite serious and there was a concern in the way my air was moving. When i showed them the pictures of my apartment, it was agreed by both the doctors at the hospital and my family doctor that I needed to move ASAP to help my recovery. I stopped payment on my rent check and found an apartment that would let me move in on short notice, the end of the month of june. I havent been sleeping there as i notice the longer I still int he apartment the worst it gets and if i sleep elsewhere i have less problems breathing.
Now, I have left messages for the legal department, the regional manager and other people at transglobe property management about my move and my situation, but no one wants to get back to me. I finally was able to speak with someone from legal and she advised I HAD to give 60days notice and i would be charged for June as well as they might take action, as i have to be let out of my lease. I have tried talking to everyone in that company and no one wants to help me. IM so frustrated.
