Here we go yet again. The fine folks over at translucent publishing a.k.a phoenix media a.k.a. schofield media a.k.a business media publications.
This outfit run by the same people who invented the scurge of false advertising and hopeless dreams have resurfaced or should I say, come up for air after changing their name again for the 4th time in less than two years.
Let me tell you about this company and whyyou should not deal with them.
First, this company is centered on a unethical business practice called "advertorial" in a sense it's the lowest form of journalism (if you really wish to call it that) where they will call companies asking to spending thousands of dollars for ads that run in magazines and websites that barely get any traffic or readers.
If you run a site profile on their websites, you can see that each site gets roughly 10 to 30 people a day. Yes, a day.
They also print a limited amount of fake magazines that also have no BPA audting and the subscriber numbers are simply made up.
They will call usally mid level companies and hound them to run ads on their site and magazines , then they will ask for your vendor list to hound your vendors for ad space also. They charge thousands of dollars for these ads and of course no one really see's the ads except for the company buying the ads.
They are basiclly a boiler room operation that moves around frequently to avoid detection so they can continue fleecing unsuspecting business and people. All anyone has to do is research "Phoenix Media Corp" or "Schofield Media" or "Business Media Publications"
The company is headed up by a couple of real winners, like Brian Reshefsky , Chris Schofield , Andrew Schofield and some other person.
Here are a few of their titles: http://nab-magazine.com/ - North American Builders | http://energy-executive.com/ Energy Executive | http://ti-magazine.com/ Transportation and Infrastructure | http://miningandpower-magazine.com/ Mining & Power Magazine | http://www.foodbeverage-executive.com/ Food and Beverage Magazine
Warning: If you are appraoched by this extremely deceptive company you should ask them for their BPA numbers and proof of readership. I am telling you that if you send these people your money, it's as good as gone.
Whilst there are reputable business to business companies that do a fair job of delivering a fair product, this of course is not one of them. No one, not even their employees like working there and most just seem to call it what it is and that is just a job.
Oh, before I forget, just take a look at the magainzes and look at the names of the people in the credits, you will see the same names across all of their magazines and websites with outlandish titles.
Anyhow, be careful and follow simple due dilligence to avoid loosing your money. And remember, the pen is mighteir than the sword. :-)
