Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I checked around for the best deal I could find both locally and on the Internet for repair of my GMC Envoy transmission. I found Transmission City on the Internet, it's statement that repairs starting at $597. and "MAX PRICE QUOTED UP FRONT" to be very interesting. They also claim on that site an A+ BBB rating, (which I find out later is TOTALLY A LIE!) I continued to checked with them and others and finally agreed to use them for my repair.

Jim, my phone rep quoted me $1197. for the full rebuild kit and could be cheaper. He indicated the possibility of extra cost for "Hard Parts" but was not likely. I agreed and they towed my car to a local Aamco to do the work. Being Aamco I felt fairly confident the work would be as described, so on 11/15/2010 the "FREE" tow to the transmission shop took my car.

Jim further said work would likely be done in just a few days, so on the 3rd day, expecting it to be done, he called me and said, "the shop said it would be a maximum of $2,300. to repair the unit" I was incensed and said I couldn't afford $2,300. doubling what he quoted me. He then said, "most people are happy we give them the worst case scenario" I told him I wanted my car back and not to proceed. He then started arguing with me and got both incensed that I would not go ahead with the repair and then started calling me "SON" like he could talk down to me and put me in my place. He then hung up on me.

I called to the rep at the Aamco where my car was and was told I could NOT get my car till it was released by Jim, and any "FEES" charged paid for first. The Aamco rep told me they had not done any work on it yet and that he was starting to get a bad feeling working with theses people and my have to quit taking work from them. I called Jim back and asked him to tow my car back to my home, and that I wouldn't pay any "fees" as nothing had been done and he said fine you don't owe us a thing.

I called the Aamco shop back a few hours later to find out not only had "Jim" not called them to release my car, but that the shop rep had called him also and he would not return the call to him or me. I called back the next day and got the same reply as well as it will be Monday before they are likely to call them back. It is now 5 days later and I still can't get my car from the Aamco shop or ANYONE from Transmission Citi/Trans One,  to take or return my calls, even though the web site claims they are open from 8am to 8pm 7 days a week.

As I will not have my car repaired through them I don't know if they stand by their "LIFETIME WARRANTY" but would highly doubt it as so far everything they are doing is either false advertising, bait and switch or outright lies, and in my opinion FRAUD!

I am filing a BBB & State Attorney General Complaint and contacting an attorney to look into it as well now and posting this RIP OFF report so others may not get Ripped Off as well!

I unfortunately fell victum to these scam artists before I saw the information on Ripoff Report site where others have had many of the same problems as well as my BBB not having a file on them except complaints.

Do your due dilligence people, and DON'T USE THIS COMPANY!!! IT IS A RIPOFF!!!
